Can't launch the game ("Can't find Steam" error)
1. Find "JadeEmpireConfig.exe" in your game folder.
2. Right click on it and open "Compatibility" tab.
3. Select "Windows Vista SP2" and click "Apply".
Can't use config tool
If you still can't launch the game or can't use config tool.

1. Create a text file in "XML" format.
2. Name it "SystemInformation".
2.1 If you can't create XML file, then copy and paste "testapp" file from "Data" folder to your desktop, delete the text inside and rename it to "SystemInformation"
3. Now put "SystemInformation" to your game > "Data" folder.
4. Find "Steam.dll" in your main Steam folder.
5. Copy this file and put it in your game main folder.
Lags
1. Download this[bitbucket.org]file and put it in your game main folder.
1.1 You can also use custom Reshadepreset instead of this fix.
Camera bug
Sometimes it can happen. After you visited a new location, finished dialogue etc.

1. Just save and load the game.
Mods
Good mod which adds new styles and few other things. Nothing major.

what works for me is fully exiting steam and then relaunching steam as an administrator. it makes it work for some reason

Modern computers seem to have a problem where you can't launch the configuration app at all anymore. This is an issue because the launcher forces the config app to start before starting the game the first time it runs. It crashes, so you can never run the game.

You can fix it like this:
- go to the install folder
- rename "JadeEmpireLauncher.exe" to something else (I use "JadeEmpireLauncher.old.exe")
- rename "JadeEmpire.exe" to "JadeEmpireLauncher.exe"

Now clicking "Play" will launch directly into the game instead of starting the launcher. If you want to change any of the configuration, you'll need to open JadeEmpire.ini and change them manually.

Just so you know. I did all this and still the Config file won't open. It just crashes.

the game is broken on the ea app/gamepass.

it will never launch.

there is no fix.

Really thought this game would be fun but after 2 hours of playing on mouse and keyboard I wanted to blow my brains out. Seriously this game's controls is nauseating and frustrating for no reason. Coming from someone whos beaten every Souls game and loves retros....

that .xml quick fix and compatibility on config running it then compatibility on launcher. Seems to have worked thank you
