Description
TTT_PALACE

I've had this map in the works for quite a while now, to say the least, heh. A close-quarters TTT map based off of the cut skyscraper location from Half-Life 2's development.

This map was built from the ground up, using the leaked WC maps as reference. Tested with 5 players.

Features:
- Two traitor rooms, with plentiful weapon spawns
- A number of traitor traps, such as falling chandeliers and elevators
- A traitor tester on the bottom floor
- Custom soundscapes!
- DOES NOT REQUIRE COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE OR HALF-LIFE 2: EPISODE ONE OR TWO. Some models have been imported from CSS, but you don't have to own it to see them.
- On that note, a good number of custom models and materials made for the setting.

I'm quite proud of this map, which is probably good since I've been working on it on-and-off for a couple years now, lol. Hope you enjoy!

Two known issues: The cubemaps on the toilets are extremely reflective for some reason, and the stairwell on the first floor isn't very clearly indicated. I'll address both of these in an update soon (hopefully).

aloha. could you maybe add random weapon and ammo spawns throughout the map? Can't be added to the sever i play on otherwise :/

@Dopey; Thanks! I did have some plans for street level, if only just to let the players' ragdolls land on the road instead of in midair, but unfortunately extending the map down that far was an absolute killer on performance. :/

@Karate Walrus; Ooh, good point about the map name. I'm updating the map here shortly to fix some things, I'll be sure to include that. Also, there are 16 player spawns, if that's what you're referring to.

Also could u put the map name up? I had to download and extract the map so I knew what name to add to my map rotation - ttt_palace_v1 - and thanks again nice map

how many spawns are there?

I wish there would be more bottom floors and access to street level (combining both the palace and street sections from the beta would be amazing). But I love this map regardless!

@Karate Walrus; Yeah, I used a custom soundscape script for this. Could probably do with a bit more fine-tuning when I get to updating it. I got it working by embedding the soundscript file into the .bsp using BSPZIP... I'd have to double-check my settings, but it was simple enough and works like a charm. I don't know if the order matters, but I built the cubemaps first before packing the script into the .bsp.

@Dr. Pingas; Sorry, I'm not sure what you're asking here...? I might do more beta-inspired maps for GMod at some point, I wouldn't rule it out, but I don't know if that'd be anytime soon. This was a lot of work, and I was fortunate in that I didn't need a lot of complex, detailed custom props for it. Other locations might be a different matter.

Hey I can tell you put a lot of work into it - nicer barrels, and broken light, and hole in the wall and all that stuff. The humming sound is a little loud for me. Do you use a soundscape? I couldn't get soundscapes to work cause they require uploading a txt file but yours seems to work fine.

I found a cubemap problem with my maps if I changed the name of the map file after building the cubemaps into it. No idea why that breaks stuff.
