The results are if you use advance setting and pick RANDOM placement you will not get your specified amount of ai empire
The CLUSTERS placement for empire work idk why tho, also run this with big mods like giga and acot so they also add other ai empire making it to total of 48 ai empire with mods so yeah dont pick random placements guys
Cause with no extra AI's
Just the regular AI empires you can adjust.
Including myself only a max of 7 empires get generated in a 100 system, galaxy map.
Which to be frank is extremely underwhelming.
At the very least I wish the limit was 19 if I didn't have any other AI types enabled.
Cause that would've been 20 "players" in total on the map which gives each a chance to get 5 systems.
Figure random placement and then have the generation luck set in and you've got a cool and challenging game where it's like a civ 5 game with a lot of "players" on a small map.
A sort of "rags to riches" kind of game due to the scarcity of space and potential resources for people to nab.
