Niko (DST) | Re-illuminated

The constant has claimed another victim, Niko: The Messiah.
Niko finds themself in a whole new and much more scary world. But luckily Niko is not alone. Through the help of you and The Author and whatever survivors await Niko in the constant, returning home might be possible. The sun has been broken and Niko has grown to depend on it, and feels unsafe without it, but thanks to the Author's journal Niko can learn how to dabble in the dark arts of the constant to find a temporary solution to fix it.

This mod supports compendium info and other client-side features, to activate them get the "Mods In Menu" mod and enable it from the mim menu. Alternatively you can force-load the mod in your "modoptions.lua".

This mod has been partially abandoned, I will still fix any crashes that come up due to DST updates however I do not intend to add any new features. If you wish to pick up where I have left off feel free to do so just as I did with Daniel's version of the Niko mod.


Moves between 20% and 0% faster when between 100% and 80% sanity respectively.
Niko can not sleep when below 50% sanity, this has been fully implemented, Ill update the picture eventually.
Niko deals 50% less damage when at 25% or less sanity.




Counts as Sunlight and thus can help crops grow underground.

Can be Overcharged by Niko with mushroom spores (Right click with spores)
All: Can not be repaired or Re-overcharged when already charged.
All: Spoils 20X faster
All: Instantly refills spoilage
Blue: Adds a healing aura when equipped
Green: Adds a protective armor aura when equipped
Red: Adds a status protective aura against freeze and sleep and protects against the sandstorm of summer when equipped.



To use the Author's Journal simply drop it on the ground just like you would with maxwell's codex. (Sorry that it has no animation to imply that, I still need to learn how to make animations.)







I wont take your money, this is a passion project that I do out of love for the character and for the fun of coding. But if you want some of your work to show up as part of the mod, consider making a custom skin for Niko, rather it be the sprite itself or a portrait for the skin.

Currently in need for sound effects and visual effects and examination lines for the phosphor overcharges.

• The inactive journal has no icon in the crafting menu.(Visual)
  
• Niko's hat's skins don't have icons in the crafting menu. (Visual)
  
• Pancakes show in the wrong position in the crock pot. (Visual)

• The pancakes have no icon in the cookbook (Visual)
  
• The Clover magic tab can cover other special tabs when Niko's hat is prototyped, you can get around this by selecting the wanted crafting tab using the scroll wheel. (However I will get around to fixing it soon-ish.)
  
• The sounds caused by the phosphor overcharge only work on a non-dedicated server.
