Many of my projects are hovering at the "presentable" phases of their life cycle. Today I've decided to dump several of them on the unsuspecting public, lest I hoard them in nearly-completed-status ad-aeternum. This is probably one of my least complete, as it is one of two where I first dip my toes in compositing images together. There were challenges. The original image has a speckled orange "simple" background. Conditioning the Color-Key tool to filter the background and only the background was a monumental process, and not something I enjoyed. My solutions felt like sloppy workarounds. Maybe it's time to finally get photoshop.
Regardless, once that was done, I got to do my usual fun stuff. A little breathing, and paired X-and-Y bounces with Time Offset in the right places really brings a picture to life. And it's nice to know I could swap out the background at the slightest provocation.
In future updates, the background itself is untouched, and there's plenty of room for another two characters, so you might see some changes there. Along with general fine-tuning.
