Russia Campaign: AMBUSH!

What is up fellow-steamers(I think), today I will be telling you about how I lost my favorite general to a prussian ambush. You all know who Im talking about, that favorite general that you would trust enough to protect your whole empire single-handedly,(ok, maybe not that much). But this man has lead you to many victories over your opponent, and your military would be horrible without his leadership. This man is, (was), not your average general who cowards behind his meat-sheild of an army. He was a front line commander, going by the name of Vinkov Kinkosky, had used his pistol and blade to kill over 30 Prussians and Austrians. He had started of with 1000 men in his force, which was being used to conquer a town that had recently been raided. His orders were to take controll of the town and hold it from a large enemy force inbound to East Prussia(controlled by me).

He was marching down to the town but in order to do this he met a force of about the same men. His army was known for killing off enemy line troops with his experienced men, and thats what he did. He realized that the routing troops were headed for a position in between to sides of a forest. He marched his troops down the dead center of the woods. I was observing the routing troops as they stopped routing, in a split second there was a POW, and a large sound of screaming soldiers. I looked down to see 3 cannon batteries firing canister shot into my forces. The generals morale began to drop for the very first time, he was scared! Soon there was a storm of musketry flying from the woods, at this moment I knew that we were surrounded. Kinkosky formed a square, with him in the middle. My men tried to get a view of the enemy firing positions, every time my men fired it normally hit a tree or was too low. Canister shot flew at the square, and soon the whole left flank was down. The commander turned around to be greeted with a 12 lb cannon aiming at him. His last move was to pull out his pistol and shoot one of the gunners.....wrong cannon! A round was planted right in his forehead and sent him to ground. The army tried to retreat but were literally surrounded on all 4 sides. Every last man was killed in the army. Among the pile of green coated corpses lies the commander...with a grin on his face.

By the time reinforcements arrived at the town it was burned down with not a soul alive in it. We had lost 1000 men, useful money, and our favorite commander....all for nothing!

Thanks for veiwing this sad tale, I hope you enjoyed my pain(cries),

Nine stars, he was. He died in 1813, but in the time he had lived he had cowed France, Spain, Prussia, and Denmark, invaded most of Austria and taken it, and fought his way into Russia.

My best general who was also killed was John Sherbrooke, who died in a melee during a siege.
