Roadmap
Estimated time to 100%: 60 hours.
Number of playthroughs: 3 (1 for each gender + NG+)
Missable achievements:
- Lord of the Ring
- Ragnar Lodbrok
- Ultimate Challenger!
Difficulty related achievements: You have to beat the game on Einherjar (Insane) difficulty with a Valhalla character.

Step 1 - Complete the game on any difficulty:
I recommend to do this playthrough on Warrior (Normal) difficulty. Focus on getting all artifacts, all runes, complete all hunts, and complete all challenges in every map.

Step 2 - Einherjar (Insane) difficulty with a Valhalla character of the opposite gender:
The reason behind doing this playthrough before NG+ is that you can use your character from the previous playthrough to craft gear and enchant it with tier 5 runes.

Step 3 - Complete NG+ on any difficulty with your first character:
You will lose all gold, resources and village upgrades. You will be able to keep every item that is in your inventory or in the stash.

Game Completion
Moongarm
Complete the game as the Warrior.
Beat the game with a male character.

Moonbikkja
Complete the game as the Shieldmaiden.
Beat the game with a female character.

Son of Odin
Complete Game+.
Complete NG+ on any difficulty.

True Viking
Complete the game on the highest difficulty.
Beat the game on Einherjar (Insane) difficulty.

Valhalla Mode
Accomplish campaign in Valhalla Mode.
See Valhalla Champion achievement.

Valhalla Champion
Accomplish campaign in Valhalla Mode on highest difficulty.
Beat the game on Einherjar (Insane) difficulty with a Valhalla character.

Note: If your character dies in Valhalla mode, death will be permanent and you will no longer be able to play with that character. You can pause the game and quit to the main menu if you see that you are going to die (unlike going to the village, in this way you won't lose the progress of the current map).

These are my recommendations:
- Play with a Tyr oriented character.
- Get elemental resistances and armor when leveling up.
- Use heavy armor and a heavy shield (with extra block if possible).
- Use a hammer (or an axe after getting Slashing Damage passive gift).
- Use the best healing totem with 3 charges available for your level.
- Use the healing talisman (Talisman of Frigga) and carry several of them in the inventory.
- Avoid being too underleveled. Repeat hunt quests as much as needed.
- Complete Trial of Skathi 5 times to get 5 gift points (at level 15 or so).
- Use your character from the previous playthrough to enchant items with tier 5 runes.
Character Progression
Bloody Viking
Earn 1,000,000 Blood.
Blood is what gives you experience to level up. On a single playthrough you will get it before reaching level 20.

Blessings of the Aesir
Complete all Trials.
You have to complete 5 Trials of Gods that are unlocked the first time you speak with Helga in the village. They consist of waves of enemies that you have to defeat.

Note: The trials can be very challenging, as you will find enemies of higher levels than the level required for the trial. You can obtain up to 25 gift points by completing 5 times each trial.

This is the recommended level for each trial:
- Trial of Skathi: Level 10
- Trial of Odin: Level 15
- Trial of Thor: Level 20
- Trial of Tyr: Level 25
- Trial of Loki: Level 30

The following achievements consist in unlocking all gifts (skills) in different gift trees. There is a method to get all the achievements in a single playthrough. You have to meet 2 requirements:
- To be at least level 16.
- To have 20 unspent gift points.
Once you meet those requirements you can unlock all the gifts in a gift tree, quit the game without saving (Alt+F4), return to the game, and spend the gift points on another gift tree.

Follower of Thor
Unlock all Gifts in Thor's gift tree.

Follower of Odin
Unlock all Gifts in Odin's gift tree.

Follower of Tyr
Unlock all Gifts in Tyr's gift tree.

Follower of Loki
Unlock all Gifts in Loki's gift tree.

Follower of Skathi
Unlock all Gifts in Skathi's gift tree.
Miscellaneous
These achievements are very likely to be obtained by playing the game normally:

Tomtecide
Killed 500 Tomte.
They are the most common enemy in the game, so nothing to worry about.

Jotun's Bane
Kill 100 Jotun.
They are common enemies, so nothing to worry about.

Baker's Dozen
Perform 1000 rolls.
Roll is the evasion movement. You will use it a lot.

Crowd Clearer
Kill four foes in a single attack.
You have to perform a multikill with a basic attack (gifts (skills) won't unlock the achievement).

Note: A good opportunity to get this achievement is while you are transformed into an Iron Guardian during Quest 8 - Bishop's Gambit.

Berserker!
Rage continuously for over 20 seconds.
Rage has a base duration of 10 seconds and it's slightly extended each time you hit.
It is recommended to use a Thor oriented character because they have access to a passive gift which increases rage duration by 30%. You should also use items that increase rage duration or enchant them with runes.

Rune Bound
Equip three runes on a single item.
First you have to unlock the Runesmith by completing Quest 4 - Horror of Fangstar. Then you will need 3 different runes and an item with 3 empty rune slots.

Gold Standard Trader
Earn 50,000 gold by selling resources.
First you have to unlock the merchant by completing Quest 11 - Tunnels and Trolls. Once he is stablished in the village you can buy and sell resources at the same price.

Master Smith
Unlock level 5 of the Smithy.
The special item required to upgrade the smithy to level 5 is obtained as a reward for completing Quest 23 - Alliance in Flames.
Raids and Collect Items
Imp Hunter
Complete the Imp Hunt.
See Winter Hunter achievement.

Hunter
Complete any Hunt map.
See Winter Hunter achievement.

Winter Hunter
Complete all Hunt maps.
Hunts are side quests that take place in already visited areas and consist in killing enemies of a kind (Hunt Wolves, Hunt Trolls...).

Ultimate Challenger!
Complete all Challenges on all maps.
Missable Each map has some challenges that you have to complete. You can see them in the upper right corner of the screen.

Note: You can follow or check Challenges and Artifacts Guide by Shoki if you need help to find anything in a map. The guide is mainly in German, but has instructions in English on how to understand the maps.

Gotta Find 'Em All
Find all Artifacts.
Artifacts are mythological Norse weapons. There are 5 of these, but each of them is divided into 3 pieces (15 items in total).

Note: If you miss any of them during a main quest you can still obtain them afterwards during the hunt quest that takes place in the same map.

These are the 15 items to collect (in chronological order):

Quest 2 - Dealing with Jokul / Hunt Wolves:
Skathi's Greatbow - Grip: In a chest behind a cliff. To get there you have to activate 5 levers hidden in different towers.

Quest 4 - Horror of Fangstar:
Lavateinn - Haft: Obtained from a troll named Grindan (unmissable).

Quest 6 - Vengeance / Hunt Jotun:
Mjolnir - Head: Obtained from a Troll Witch.
Priwen - Enarmes: In a chest in a hidden path next to a troll totem.

Quest 9 - Unexpected Ally / Hunt Ettin:
Gungnir - Socket: Obtained from an Armored Jotan.

Quest 12 - Viking Marauder / Hunt Knights:
Lavateinn - Head: In a chest at the other side of the locked iron gate in the first cave. To get the key you have to break a stick that holds a chest on the beach northwest of the cave.
Priwen - Boss: Obtained from a Crusader Champion.

Quest 13 - Sigurd's Ring / Hunt Draugar:
Skathi's Greatbow - Limbs: Obtained from a Greater Draugr located in a secret room east of the second puzzle.

Quest 15 - Simul's Lair / Hunt Dvergar:
Gungnir - Blade: In a chest behind a magical barrier. To unlock the path you have to activate the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th crystal (those are the ones that have to be glowing).

Quest 16 - A Knife in the Dark / Hunt Imps:
Mjolnir - Handle: In a chest in a locked room. To open the door you have to activate 4 levers that are in the caves.

Quest 20 - Hide and Seek / Hunt Haugbui:
Priwen - Corpus: As a reward for solving the second puzzle about lighting up symbols.

Quest 22 - Plain of Souls / Hunt Frost Giants:
Gungnir - Shaft: Obtained from a Frost Giant Elite.
Mjolnir - Pommel: In a chest to the right of the second bridge that is built by activating levers.

Quest 25 - Path of Ice and Fire / Hunt Fire Giants:
Skathi's Greatbow - String: Obtained from an Ice Golem Champion.
Lavateinn - Pommel: Obtained from a Fire Golem Champion.

Ringer of Runes
Collect one of every rune.
There are 5 tiers of runes and 5 runes per tier (25 runes in total).

Note: Runes can be obtained in different ways:
- As a reward for completing quests (defeating the boss of the map during a hunt quest will also reward you with a random rune).
- As a reward for completing Trials of Gods.
- Buying them from the merchant.

Buying them from the merchant is the best way. You can pause the game and quit to the main menu, return to the game, and the merchant will restock.
The only problem about buying the runes is that the tier of the runes that the merchant has is tied to your character level, so at certain point you won't be able to purchase low tier runes. If you are missing low tier runes by the end of your playthrough you can repeat Trials of Gods until you get them.
