How to Avoid SHMUP Finger Strain
By ρσѕт-мόδεгп ㋛
Like other PC SHMUP games, the mouse set-up is painful for long periods of time. This quick fix should solve the problem.

Pain Free Way to Play
When launching, you are always greeted with the options screen.

As opposed to hopping into the game, give the INPUT tab a glance.

IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!
I mean, hand.

Most people would think only using the mouse was the only way to play this.

Double-click the 'Secondary' option for 'Fire', and change it to any key on the keyboard.

I use 'F', since it's an easy key to rest my hand on. And I'm a lefty. Change it to your liking.

So, what's the point of this?
I give this advice due to the fact fast-paced games requiring fast mouse movement and rapid mouse clicking only takes a short time before straining your wrist.

So, instead of cussing at the game b/c you can't keep up with it, level the playing field by assigning a task to each hand.

Tap the keyboard button to shoot, move the mouse to aim, and right click to switch background colors.

You hit the fire button more than the switch color button, which reduces the stress on your wrist.

Guide's over. Diss it, upvote it, it don't matter.
Thanks for reading anyway.

By default, any of the letter keys will fire. I personally use Z and X for shooting (same as in Osu! - a great rhythm game) and right click for color-switching.

I've found that dual mouse has worked fine for me so far... does this work any better than that?

I like changing colors on Space, it became usual to me and faster than pressing RMB. Never thought about Fire bind, i'm pretty sure it will be better for be with it instead of LMB

Guess I'm gonna use a mouse side button to switch color though. But yeah using KB to fire, hmmm :D:

As far as I know you don't actually have to bind it to a key. In my game you can just tap any of the letter keys to shoot. I use my entire left hand on asdf to shoot. Once you get used to it, it works well. I can usually time it so that I hit the entire pill rainbow with a single smooth motion.
