1. You are stuck when you launch the game from steam: It keeps trying to install "vc redist"
NOTE: it does not show a message that it fails, but it does!

Solution: Install it manually from the install folder

How: Go to The game in your library right-click, bring up "propperties", chose from the tab "local data", go to the "install location". There you will find the install folder where you should install "vcredist_x86.exe". If it tells you you have a newer "vc redist" installed uninstall it and install the one there.

2. You are past 1. but get stuck when a new black window opens and tells you the game can't be launched

Solution: Restart your PC, apparently the install script is designd to only work after a reboot of your system.

How: I said reboot your machine not steam!

I had the same problem when I first tried to launch the game, but a simple reboot fixed it. I didn't have to manually install vc redist.

Thanks for the post, though, now I know why I didn't work at first.
