You can play the vast majority of them in single player. It's how I do initial testing of all of them. Select the mutation, host a "Friends Only" server, and lock the other slots.
I'm hoping to release an update to ShackMutations in June. Between work and an upcoming trip, I won't have any time to create more mutations until I get back on June 8, but I've got a few in the queue.
Every melee weapon will have the damage boost. Melee force is increased to 9000.
When I played it (on a modded map, We Don't Go to Ravenholm 2) there was 1 fire axe at the very beginning. Would that get the bonuses that crowbars get?
It looks like you're in Germany and I don't think the USK has allowed unrestricted sale of the uncut version of L4D2. I can sympathize...I had to cut features from previous games I've worked on because of that.
From what I have been told by German citizens before, customers are supposed to be able to request certain titles at retail by providing their identifications to prove their age, but I can't verify this.
I recommend asking Valve directly, and I wish you luck on your quest.
