Finding and transferring save games
Where are my save games stored?
Save games are stored in: <steam directory>/userdata/<steamid#>/257770/remote/save/

Are my savegames stored in the Steam Cloud?
Yes, as long as you have the Steam Cloud enabled on your account (and for Signal Ops), your save games will be automatically synced to the Steam Cloud and will be transferred to any new computer you install Signal Ops on.

Can I continue my progress from a non-Steam version of Signal Ops in the Steam version?
Yes you can! Please note that by running the Steam version of Signal Ops, your save games will be moved into the Steam directory and no longer found by non-Steam versions of Signal Ops. See the section on transferring save games to revert to a non-Steam version of Signal Ops.

How can transfer my save games to another account, share them with someone else, or use them with a non-Steam version of the game?
  • Copy the save games from the Steam directory mentioned above.
  • (optional) Send the save games to a friend and have them complete the remaining steps.
  • Place the save games in the appropriate folder for your operating system:
  • (Windows) Open a file browser and enter %APPDATA% in the address bar. Open the "Signal Ops" directory, or create it if it does not exist. Inside, open the "save" directory, or create it if it does not exist. Copy the save games into the save directory.
  • (Linux) ~/.signalops/save/
  • Launch Signal Ops! If using the Steam version of Signal Ops, the save games will be automatically transferred to the Steam Cloud. If not they will simply remain here.
Configuration Settings
Where is the config file stored?
  • Windows: %APPDATA%/Signal Ops/config.yml
  • Linux: ~/.signalops/config.yml
You can delete this file to reset Signal Ops to default settings.

Graphics Settings
  • Resolution - Set the resolution that Signal Ops will run at. Pick the "Match Desktop" option to always have Signal Ops launch at the same resolution as your desktop is set at, even if you change it later (this is the default).
  • Window Mode - Options are Windowed and Fullscreen. This is just personal preference.
  • Gamma Correction - Is the game too bright or too dark? Adjust it here.
  • Intel GPU Compatible - Enabling this option fixes some depth sorting issues that can occur with Intel HD Graphics GPUs.
  • VSync - Enabling vertical sync will eliminate screen tearing, but may reduce overall frame rate.
  • Agent Field of View - You may want to adjust this based on how big your monitor is. If you have a small monitor, reducing the FOV could help you see details on the small monitors better.
  • Renderer - Generally you should leave this on the default OpenGL option unless you have problems. On Windows, there is the additional option of DirectX 9. Changing this setting requires the game to be restarted to take effect.
  • Hardware Instancing - This option may give a frame rate improvement if your GPU is compatible. Generally this works well with NVIDIA and Intel graphics, but some AMD GPUs will produce graphical glitches with this option enabled. Changing this setting requires the game to be restarted to take effect.

General Settings
  • Smooth Net Movement - This option will help to smooth out any lost data when playing online.
  • (multiple settings) Volume - Adjust the sound mixing of various types of sounds.
  • Speaker Mode - If you have a surround sound speaker setup, you may want to adjust this as appropriate. If you set the speaker mode to more channels than is configured in your operating system, you will experience sounds not playing or cutting out!
