If you want to use gnomes early but get rid of them later this is how you can do it.

How to PURGE
1. Become infested by gnome scum
2. Satisfy conditions for other races
3. Gather the goons (Get rogues)
4. Remove autorepair for the hovels
5. Flag the hovels ONE AT A TIME with an attack flag (If you have a lot of royal gardens or statues this will eventually not work) 100g is fine
6. Remove the flags at around 15-20 health left on the hovel
7. Once 2/3 hovels have been downed to 15-20 health let the third one finish being destroyed. As this is happening flag the first 2 again
8. Once the hovels are destroyed build an elven bungalow or a dwarven settlement and no more hovels will spawn

If you still want to keep a few indentured servants then you can get rid of your weaker gnomes and keep a few in an outpost.

These kind of back-stabbing rulers will lead to the eventual gnome uprising!
And after they build larger and more populous communities faster than your kingdoms could possibly build, they will soon begin building armies of champion gnomes armed with powerfully engineered, mobile crew served weapons! Your city will burn! Your "heroes" will die!

i just built a wall, said no gnomes allowed, deported all dem gomes back to gnomoria

A few thunderbolts to each hovel takes them out pretty quick. I do like to keep some in an embassy or outpost.

With unlimited gnomes I hate them a bit less. With the swarm mod I use the hovels as valuable buffer space between me and the next horde. Works fantastic.

I just want to comment and smile that this game is soo good. 2020 yall still'n plott'n on those "I'm just... a gnomeeeeee" hahaha those moments when your playing and randomly hear. I'm a Champion!!" and you go. wait what?! well you go tiger!
