Hidden Paws Mystery is the sequel to Hidden Paws. This game is a little harder.

One of the changes is that there are no real hints for finding the cats. If you'd like hints for the yarn however, you must turn it on in the settings. Then, when you press the hint, light will fall from the sky and indicate the general area where you can find the yarn.


You can access by clicking on menu and looking at the settings on the right. Clicking the cat will tell you how many cats are left. Clicking the yarn will start the light. Each will count down as you find all the cats and yarn.


You do not need to find all the cats or yarn in order to advance, however you will if you want to get all the achievements. If you get stuck, it's good to leave the level and then come back. Fresh eyes can often help you find everything.

There are 20 isles shown as photos in the menu. A cat icon indicates you found everything. When the isle is coloured, it means you can access it.


You can move around using the WASD keys, or the mouse. The right click mouse will allow you to change perspective.

I'm new to guides and steam crashed a million times while I tried to make this. If you have any suggestions/tips on formatting to make it flow cleaner... let me know!

This game is already a bit harder than the original Hidden Paws. We start off having to find 5 cats and one is a black cat hidden quite well in a shadow. You only have to find one yarn.

The cat locations are indicated by a yellow circle, the yarn by red. As previously mentioned, the hints are not as helpful as the previous game.

This isle is small but the cats are well hidden. You'll need to start breaking up plants and pots to find everything. Cats blend in well with shadows too.

Cats are indicated with yellow, and yarn with red. An arrow usually indicates underneath in inside something.

Once again, this looks simple because the isle is small, but the cats are crafty. The trickiest spots include a cat inside the door once you open it (you need to look at it at the right angle), one under the dock step and you'll find yarn hidden in the grass.


If you have found all the cats until this point, the first cat will give you the first achievement. Way to go.

In Isle 4 we get some fog which can make it tricky to find kitties and yarn from above. Because of this, I have a few screen grabs that show from multiple angles. This means you'll see some overlap between the circles for cats.

Kitties are often found on top of the mushrooms while yarn are often hidden in the grass or roots.


Some of the screens include kitties you've already found using the first two, but they're there so you can use them as a point of reference to find the others and the yarn.


If you get stuck, use the hint for the yarn. It will shine briefly in the area where you'll find it.

At this point, if you've found all the yarn you'll get a new achievement!

Isle 5 gets trickier, because a lot of the map looks the same. Be sure you really check the crates you open, it can be easy to miss a kitty or yarn.

While you're on this isle, if you have found all the cats so far you'll get the 25 achievement.

Due to the way this map is set up, I can't do an overhead view with you able to see everything. So we have quite a few locations to visit. Yellow circles indicate cats, yellow arrows indicates cat and red circles indicate yarn.

Fairly straight forward isle! The tricky thing with this one is cats and yarn will be behind the ivy so be sure to click on it to clear it.

The fun of finding cats and yarn in and around houses again! Remember they show up inside windows, boxes/crates and in this case even IN a hollowed out rock.


One of the unique things about this level is you can find... A BUNNY. It's in GREEN on the map. This will also get you an achievement. yay.

Somewhere inside this isle you should get the achievement for finding 50 cats. Me-ow!

YOU HAVE TO SMASH PUMPKINS IN THIS LEVEL it's very fun.


You'll find a kitty in one pumpkin and a yawn in one pumpkin, BUT SMASH THEM ALL ANYWAY because there is an achievement for it later.

There's a little crypt on one side of the isle where you'll find a cat among the graves and the candles. You'll also find a cat in one of the clay jugs. One cat blends in really well on the rocks.

Click anywhere on this creepy isle to get the next achievement. Those creepy eyes are going to follow you everywhere.

This one is foggy so be sure to look around from different perspectives close up.

This isle has 13 cats and 5 yarn. The yarn are spread out, so apologies for all the screenshots.









I had to stitch this one together to avoid it being two, but you can see there's a black cat just to the right of this hidden yarn.

Just a little past this one, you'll find the last car, a white one.

This isle thankfully wasn't too hard!

This next isle is going to be harder, the cats blend in with EVERYTHING. There are 19 cats and 5 yarn. Yikes! please note, because this map is so tricky to landmark, I've circled cats in every screen shot from various perspectives to try and help you find them.


zoom out a little more and you'll find another


Zoom in toward the center and you'll see a white cat by the biggest pillar. To his left is a black cat, and a penguin. Clicking the penguin will get you an achievement.


Go back a little farther and you'll see 4 very hard to see kitties

To the left of those kitties you'll find a yarn

In the very center if you look down, you'll see a black kitty and two crates. Open the crate to find a white kitty.

A little bit down from that and you'll find a blue yarn along with a black kitty up on a ledge.


From there you can go right and find another two kitties. In the screen shot I circled some kitties you already found and the penguin so you have a frame of reference for where to look. Those black kitties blend right in on the rocks.


Under the ledge where you just found the black cat, is a white cat. I have circled cats you already found in this screen shot to help you stay oriented. This level can get disorienting because everything looks the same.




And yes, you will find a kitty in the eye of one of these giant pillar kitties. It's spooky and sneaks up on you.

Again, the penguin can be useful to help you landmark and find nearby kitties and yarn. here's the orange yarn.

Remember if you're having trouble finding yarn you can turn on the yarn hints, and you may have to turn them on again each time you play.


At this point if you have found all the yarn, you'll get another achievement - well done, you found 50!

This one is really pretty with lots of sparkly stuff and glowing kitty statues. You'll start the game zoomed in. To find the first set of kitties and yarn just zoom out and you'll hear them meow.

After finding those kitties just go to the right along the rocks to find the green yarn.

Continue around the outside of the isle and you'll find a white kitty hanging out. He looks like one of the glowing statues.

Around the back of the island there is a well hidden kitty and the green yarn. They are behind ivy that you will need to click on to move.


Keep going to find an orange tabby all curled up


Keep going and find a barrel, take the top off. There's a kitty inside but you need to be at just the right angle to see it. This will bring you all around the outside of the island, after this kitty we can start looking at the inside for the remaining 4 kitties and 3 yarn.


Always check trees in this game. Orange yarn!


Behind the little hut, you'll find 3 kitties. Look inside the boxes and barrels. You'll also find yarn on the rock.

At this point you will have found 100 cats if you've followed this guide, and you'll get the achievement

If you haven't found it yet this yarn can be tricky.


The last kitty is hard to find, he's in the mist just by the house. I couldn't see him and could only hear him and had to click around a lot to find him!

Now we're in a very noisy pond with lots of kitties meowing and frogs croaking. As soon as the level opens you'll spy a kitty. Angle a bit and you'll see a white yarn to the left.


From there, angle up so you can see the broken boat and the weird cat skull statue. You'll find 3 kitties after you open a basket.


Go to the tip of that boat and you'll find a white kitty in a box and a teal yarn.


It's foggy but if you look behind the skull statue you'll find two more kitties hanging out - you'll also find a green yarn. Once you find them you also get an achievement.




Keep going around to the left, you'll see a sideways boat with a white kitty under it. Across the water you'll find some clay pots. Smash them to find a red yarn. You'll also find a black kitty in the pots you smash (I forgot to circle him in the pic)



The next batch are on the little island just next to this one, the one with another half a boat and a bunch of barrels. You'll find one kitty under the boat, a black one by the water, and yarn in a barrel.


The last yarn is super hard unless you happen to find it by accident. It's under the boat that's next to the skull, the one with kitties all around it. You have to angle just right to find it.

Another small one, this has 6 cats and 5 yarn. It's not too hard. Just open EVERYTHING.

Spooky swamp! As soon as you start this one, without moving you can see 3 kitties. Scroll down just a little and you'll see a 4th.

Whooo boy. Ready for some Pumpkins? Because they're everywhere in this level. And crows. They make a lot of noise. Watch the scarecrows long enough and they'll move! You might find this one a bit more of a challenge.

The fun thing is... YOU CAN BLOW UP ALL THE PUMPKINS if you do, you'll get an achievement!


You can only find this lil guy by smashing the pumpkins.

Another spooky and foggy swamp. 9 kitties to find, 5 yarn.

Bunnies bunnies everywhere. Be prepared to keep clicking on them because you think they're cats.

We need to find 8 kitties and 6 yarn this time. You'll need to move ivy out of the way.
Right at the start there are 4 kitties sitting right in front of you, blending in with the bunnies
There, now you've got half already. Go down by the water and circle around the whole isle to find some more.







The yarn really blend in with this one. The hints were not great because the island is so small they light up half the island each time you use them.

12 kitties and 6 yarn! Here we go. I'm not sure why but I found navigating around this map to be very clunky.








This blue yarn is a bit hard to get because the map keeps chopping when you try to scroll



This little guy was tricky to find. He blends right in.

Final isle! 12 cats and 6 yarn. A LOT of windows... so get opening! This is probably the hardest one but still not too bad. Just easy to miss kitties














You've finished the game and should get the following achievements if you've done everything correctly.
