A flatspin is when you use your E-brake to get a spin on your car before you jump. You will then get a spin while you are airborn. The spin you get in the air is counted as a flatspin, while the spin on the ground is counted as an E-brake turn. Flatspins can only be performed when jumping.

The above image is of a flatspin performed from a super jump at the wind farm. That super jump is a nice practice place for flatspins. You can also do flatspins on smal jumps but they require more speed for a succesful flatspin.

Performing a flatspin is not easy. You need to time your use of the E-brake turn. Braking too early will result in a E-brake turn and braking too late will result in a regular jump. An E-brake turn is performed by activating the E-brake while turning left or right. The E-brake is activated by "Ctrl" as default.

Here are the steps to perform the flatspin:

• Find a place with high jumps where you can perform a flatspin.
  
• Line up your car so it points straight forward towards the jump.
  
• Drive your car as fast as possible towards the jump and perform a E-brake turn when your front bumper gets to the edge of the jump.
  
• The jump was succesful if your car spins in the air and landed without crashing. You can see how many degrees the flatspin was in the lower left corner of your screen.
