By Immersion_Lad
This will explain how to use the SDLROTT source port for windows. I had a lot of trouble setting up this source port, so I decided I would make this guide for anyone else who is struggling.

THIS GUIDE NO LONGER WORKS!!
When attempting to launch the port with this guide, you will receive an "Entry Point Not Found" error message. I don't know how to fix this and I will leave this guide up for anyone who thinks they can. If someone does manage to fix this I would greatly appreciate knowing how you did so I can update this guide.
How to
First you need to download the source port from: https://icculus.org/rott/

When you get to the site, scroll down to the Windows Binaries section and click ZIP to download the zip file for windows.
The zip contains: rott - darkwar.exe as well as an exe for The Hunt Begins.

You can also use this page to download a Linux version under the Stable Release section.

Next you will need to go to here https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/releases/ to get some necessary SDL files.

Download the most recent release of "SDL2" that ends with "x86"
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE 64 BIT VERSION! (x64) It will cause the game to crash.
You should now have the file: SDL2.dll

After that, go to here https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL_mixer/releases/

Once again, download the most recent release of "SDL2_mixer" that ends with "x86"
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE 64 BIT VERSION! (x64) It will cause the game to crash.
You should now have the file: SDL2_mixer.dll

Finally, you need to take the SDL2.dll, SDL2_mixer.dll, and the rott - darkwar.exe and drop them into your Rise of the Triad Dark War folder

...Steam/steamlibrary/steamapps/common/rise of the triad dark war/rise of the triad - dark war

Thats it! Just run rott - darkwar.exe to launch the game.

Ive just been playing with modified Controls W & S to move. A & D to strafe & Up, Down, Left & Right arrow keys to look around. it feels more natural.

@Marshmallow Ash Source ports are usually WAAAYYYYY easier than this. RotT is very limited in it's source ports, and if you're not worried about visual accuracy, then I recommend you use WinRotT over this source port. It's much easier to set up, but the colors are a bit washed out and the image is stretched to fit widescreen.

This is so damn confusing what the hell. I got this on GOG so i dont know if its any different. Im new to the whole source port stuff & this is the most confusing. Red Neck Rampage was easier then this.

@G0D I think that might be a key binding issue, or there might be a problem with using mouse to strafe if you have that enabled.

So I got it to work but when im in game and try to strafe to the left my camera looks towards the ground. Is this a setting that I can disable?
