The Aspiring Hierophant's Tips Of The Day™ Almanac

As my ongoing series: Tips Of The Day™ (or short TOTD™) preordained,
the stars are aligned, the time is nigh
so let me welcome any
aspiring truthbearers,
inspiring high-priests and
conspiring cultist leaders

in search of morsels of wisdom and forbidden knowledge.

These will try to be the lighthouse beacon across the dark and foreboding seas. There might be be brighter lights in the darkest night's sky but the wanderer needs to choose when to be led astray itself.

While the responsibilities of being the Messiah of Chernobog, the voices of darkness, he who shall pass judgement, the flame that is water are but aplenty early culling of the flock is necessary for the continued survival of the chosen.


Take your mantle high-priest - your prolific devotees need you to be worshipped.
For Chernobog.



Your main priority:
Find the sinners!

Pro Tip: The blood of a Kleptomaniac glitters brighter during a blood moon. The calmness of the sea is reflected by that glitter. For mortals that sight is transcendence - but Chernobog cares not and demands more sinners anyway.
  • There are ten sinners waiting to be exposed and executed. Find them and liberate their bodies as soon as possible.
  • Expose and inquire about vices, if you find a (-30) Vice you found your sinner.
  • You need one inquiry to identify the type of sin and another inquiry afterwards to find out how deep the sin is rooted (how negative the number is)
  • Keep one (-30) sinner in your inner circle so he can be executed and purged from sin.
  • Pick the sinner of the house that likes you best.

Your second priority:
Find your retinue of groveling devotees!

The things you have done to your teenage Katarina has left her haunted. What pleasure you deprived from her is an exquisite secret only known to Chernobog and the two of you. Look she is smiling, maybe you should have used the lash more...
  • Chose one advisor for the orgy chamber I mean your council from each house.
  • The higher the sum of the points the better. Positive sums are very rare! (Katarina is special!)
  • Just as with orgies where you get easily tired of the same skill set try to mix and match to get all 5 values of your flock to keep things as balanced as possible.
  • You won't always have enough information so balance carefully which secrets your devotees might hide.

Your next step:
Begin the orgy I mean Season!
Oh my dear child, the candy I have for you is deliciously bitter-sweet. Come to your uncle high-priest and let me induct you into the wonderous world of Chernobog for you. It's warm, moist and salty - just like the foreboding waves crashing on our jagged coast.
  • Politics work like orgies, the more devotees you pick the broader the result, the more people are happy, but the less intense is the effect.
  • One devotee only: One very happy family, maximum effect of the sins and virtues.
  • Three devotees: Three slightly happy families, low effect of the sins and virtues.
  • Two devotees: I think you get it by now.
  • Use this your advantage to limit the risk undiscovered vices and virtues can cause.
  • If you have a supple devotee with high stats (like delicious Vasin and Katarina here) you can use them for your single action - big sticky load of boosted family influence and core values.
  • While (ab)using them, inquire about their vices and virtues, the more you know the better you can plan ahead.
  • Don't worry about the family happiness at first, your happiness comes first. You are happy when you know all things hidden.
  • Try to keep all values of your flock above minimum and balance out the favour of the main houses. This is challenging but your faith shall overcome all. Strive for balance!

Your final step:
Sacrifice or rather liberate the sinner!
Fear not Arron - After the cleansing your perverted urges shall not hinder you anymore! Chernobog will feast upon your abnormality and expunge only digested purity - this islands doesn't want your fetishes here you perv.
  • The sacrifice has tremendous negative impact on the favour of the house. Especially if isn't a (-30) vice or the house has been targeted twice in a row for "liberation".
  • Depending on the sin the city gets a boost of morale in that category. One less pervert means more discipline to submit to the demands of the high-priest.
  • Depending on the virtue the city gets a hit of negativity in that category.


Eldritch praised be Chernobog, the voices of darkness, he who shall pass judgement, the flame that is water. His reign be fluid and drowning, his will unending and our sacrifice appeasing. Amen

Wow, thank you so much, that comment made my day.
I wrote this almost 6 years ago. My world, no, the world was different then. It was Before-COVID-different.
I'm sorry I can't even remember how it was like or if I overdid the sex part or not.
You should check out my newer content, maybe I've gotten better at it, or worse, not my call to say.
I'm sorry my work made you feel uncomfortable but I generally loathe it when people are retconning lore and distancing themselves from their earlier pieces, so I stand by my work and will leave it generally unaltered...

While this was pretty informative as far as the basic season-by-season gameplay, three suggestions.
1. The orgy joke was funny the first and second time, not so much as the fifth. Tone it down a touch?
2. Elaborate more on the effects of your decisions over the year like how House favor can start to bottom out over a couple seasons.
3. The mechanics behind afflictions and the tower took a bit for me to figure out, maybe new players would appreciate some advice.

Then again, I might be out of line with this, it's your guide, dudeski.
