Dark Worship Mastery - A guide to master the class
By dROY2357
A mandatory skeleton for the Void Monk skill build while also providing my own preferred build. And after that I'll clarify the reasons why I chose this approach to Void Monk. And there will also be alternative routes you could choose to play your Void Monk. (He is called Dark Worship here, but NA name is adhered throughout.)
We will also see the skill build to use after you attain your second awakening to turn into Dark Overlord. And I'll include some tips for second awakening too.

Introduction and summary
Hey there you beautiful people! This is dROY (formerly KawaiSan NA) and yeah this is to all you amazing Dark Worships over there! I present to you a mandatory skeleton for the Dark Worship skill build while also providing my own preferred build. And after that I'll clarify the reasons why I chose this approach to Dark Worship. And there will also be alternative routes you could choose to play your Dark Worship. And at the end, I'll also talk about tips and imprints.
A small thing to note about is some of the skills have different names in the skill tree (K-button) and imprinting window (a tab in your K-button window)
NOTE: This guide takes a new player friendly approach so even new players/casuals can take advantage of it. It will soon be updated with advanced play style tips and systems to help you play better. Most of my skill builds keep a decent balance between short-time burst and heavy DPS longtime, but there is a small change to make to make the said build totally min-maxed.
Gears
Gearing is pretty straight forward for Dark Worship. Full Elemental Tuner set with 'hae' evolution for the gloves and rest with 'kang' evolution line. However, if you do not have a [Daybreak] Pluto weapon in the game , there are several choices:
  • Elemental Tuner weapon and:

    a) Replacing Elemental Tuner Helmet with Square Bracket Helmet, while using Elemental Tuner
parts on other slots (top, bottom, hands, feet). This is helpful for users with low critical rate in
    town. (<=70%)

    b) Replacing Elemental Tuner Chest piece with Square Bracket Chest Piece. You can do this if
you have a reasonable critical rate (more than 70%) in town.

NOTE: Missing critical hits on a highly Critical Damage focused class such as Dark Worship (since your buff skill also buffs your Critical Damage) is really a HUGE negative, so more critical rate is always a good option to roll with. Also Elemental Tuner set adds 60% Critical Damage too apart from other amazing additives.

For accessories, just use the Dirty Cleaner's Set with the evolution according to your preference.

With Myth Armours in hand however, you want to go for full Myths. The order should be:
Bottom > Head > Top > Gloves/Shoes.
Skill build and Explanation
So, first off is the skill build. This is a mandatory skill build layout.
Reason for NOT levelling up Absolute Strike is there are other options that beat it, by both DPS and utility. You don't need that i-frame in this version of the game and I have other alternatives (like Triple Strike > Shadow Rush - Blow combo spam for the iframe).
The first three skills Triple Strike, Chain Break and Turnover Kick are purely for gem generation, but we do use Chain Break for DPS before 2nd awakening.
UPDATE: Since release of Myths happened before 2nd Awakening, you can safely give up Chain Break for damage as your Myth weapon can generate a dark gem on the cast of Prepare (your RMB).
Now there are various approaches. You can max either Chain Break or Turnover Kick, or even Triple Strike. However my personal preference order is Chain Break > Triple Strike > Turnover Kick.
If you level Chain Break, after a certain level you can awaken it. If that's how you approached (same as me, cheers!), then awaken it.

This is my build with Skill Overclock active

If you don't have Skill Overclock, max out every other skill other than Dark Orb Wave and max Chain Break or Triple Strike with the rest of the points into the other one. (For example, if you max Chain Break, then put the remaining into Triple Strike)

NOTE: However I highly recommend you to get a Premium Subscription in order to get many quality of life benefits, including free Skill Overclock daily across all characters in the account.
Second Awakening - Dark Overlord skill build
Triple Strike, Chain Break and Turnover Kick are PURELY for Dark Orb generation.
Darkness Kick uses up 1 Dark Orb to apply another hit, but it is better to use Tremor Kicks with 2 Dark Orbs. Since it eats up Dark Orbs, it is left at level 0. The damage from it is also not beneficial compared to Tremor Kick. Quick Sting can be used with animation cancel to generate a Dark Orb, but with Primary Attribute level 2, this is highly unnecessary.

The above takes into account the burst you would need to clear Challenger Zones without Myth pants effect (+100% Prepare damage). But after you get your Myth armours, specifically the Bottom part, you have no need for Darkening Max rank anymore. So the below is a build taking into account, probably the highest damage output from your class possible, when you maintain Void Kicks and use the other skills off cool down.
NOTE: Quick Sting is just levelled with the leftover points, it's requirement no longer exists after Myth weapon.

Imprinting
These are going to be your Large Imprints, the bottom row AKA Fist of Brutal Heart.

Always focus on Tremor Kick High Imprints.
Tips
  • For rapid Dark Gem generation, turn on Auto Attack Skills from skill menu. Hold down RMB and forward key, then rapidly spam Triple Strike until you get all 3 gems. Then use Chain Break animation cancel > Turnover Kick animation cancel.
  • Use your EX Turnover Kick to your advantage to deal damage to a huge portion of a room. You can then either do some Tremor Kicks to gather the mobs at the center or even Dark Orb Wave > Fast Strike to damage all the mobs that were gathered by your EX.
  • Learn the Prepare skill (RMB) to animation cancel your gem generation skills, but beware as it can also animation cancel Shoulder Smash that can be a decent contribution to your overall DPS, as it is a high damage Ultra Break skill.
  • Dash Chopping can be a great skill both for burst damage or gap closing. It's a 10s CD skill so feel free to cast it to escape hard situations! One more tip that can prevent you missing the skill (as it is very easy to miss, as said by many players I played with/mentored in NA) is Shadow Rush - Blow > Dash Chopping. This will allow you to deal high amount of damage with the added 25% increased damage on a back attack.
  • If you want a HUGE burst of damage for arena clears/etc., use the top row 1x imprint and bottom row 2x imprint, and then use Fast Strike with all 7 gems. Trust me I clear a lot of content in a blink of an eye with this in the KR server.
  • Rush your way to primary attribute level 2. The 1s Cooldown Reduction on Triple Strike is so much of a help that Gem generation is VERY FAST.

DARK OVERLORD tips:
  • During your Dark World skill, it is best to spam cast Darkness Deathfist instead of Tremor Kick.
  • Black Palm Double Strike adds into your kit for grouping, but its damage scaling is great for a 10s CD skill. ALWAYS use it with 2 Dark Orbs as only then it creates the small dark orb that pulls enemies towards it and also damages them.
  • Always try to stay at 7 Dark Orbs because your second awakening passive adds 3% attack speed and 5% movement speed for every Dark Orb that you currently posses.
  • You can now dash a total of 8 times at max, consuming 1 Dark Orb after your first dash. This is greatly viable to evade attacks/zones during combat, but it is your worst utility to move around. So don't waste all your orbs just to move around (unless it is for fun :p Coz yeah its hella fun to spam shift after Dark Orbs xD).
Conclusion
Thats it! Was a long read right? Well you can post your feedback and lemme know any ways you might come across to improve this! Happy grinding you beautiful people!

I also Have Skill overlock but not enough points for dark element strike to be lvl 9..
dROY2357  [author] 2 Jan, 2020 @ 10:49pm
Therefore it is best to boost your per hit damage to max potential, and Elemental Tuner does just that for you.

@Krypton Dark Overlord skills don't need reset as your best source of damage is a spam cast-able skill called Prepare. You spam cast Tremor Kicks.

@Wreck I have skill overclock on.. If you don't have that then leave Dark Element Strike to where ever it can get to.
