How to place rudders.(OUTDATED MAYBE????)
By pinkslop
A guide on how to place rudders, I have encountered loads of people not placing them in such a way that they will affect turning.

Rudders seem to be a part that gets commonly placed incorrectly. This guide serves to illustrate how to place rudders so that they have an impact on turning. Keep in mind spamming rudders won't make you turn faster, an update sometime ago "Added a rudder torque limit that scales based on ship mass." (Update 1.13.11). I don't actually know what this means but thought you should at least know about it, thank me. And finally, rudders and stabilizers will have a greater effect on the ends of ships as opposed to the middle, this is why longer ships turn faster with rudders than short and wide ships which turn more with their props.

Let's get into it.
The Rudder
The following image shows which orientation it can be placed in.
The Tall Rudder
You know. It's tall.
The Dragon Tail
This thing is propulsion and rudder, quite a big target but quite handy too. No clue why it's called Dragon Tail though, I have never seen any dragons with a tail like this.
The Front Rudder
You can place it in the back too. What a misleading name.
The Anti-Rudder/Stabilizer
This is not actually an anti-rudder, you still turn if you have em, they just stop you from drifting. They increase how fast your ship will stop turning once you let go of the turning controls. Quite handy for ships that turn too fast or heavy ships that still continue turning slightly after you let go of the keys and this turning slightly annoys you.

The Square Rudder B
This thing can be placed on roots and flat sides of hull plates. Also all square rudders are like combined units of a stabilizer and rudder, this is explained in their description in the build menu but if you did not know, now you know.

The Square Rudder A
Needs to be placed on the edge/yellow lined connection face of a hull plate/fork/other part that has an edge.

The Square Cut Rudder B
There's no A or I don't have it. Its cut, all it does is look different from Square Rudder B.
