Introduction and Overview:
If you're reading this guide in November - BEYOND LIGHT expansion - Unfortunately this Title has been vaulted and may or may not return.

CAVEAT: This guide will require you to WORK and put in a LOT of time in game and familiarize yourself with almost (if not) everything in game; if this discourages you, then I'm afraid this guide or Title is not for you

A month ago, September: basically the time I replayed Destiny 2 after a long hiatus: I befriended a player with the Wayfarer title, and I was curious not just for the title but the prized possession of all Wayfarers: Sagira's Shell.

So I studied and learned and played a lot just so I can get it. I referred to this Reddit Post [redd.it] and have religiously followed each and every advise stated; (and have spoken to the author that I will update the guide to what we have now and they have given me their blessings; thank you, sir!).

On the first day of October, Shadowkeep launched but before going to The Moon, I did a couple of Heroic Adventures (on EDZ) and ultimately achieved The Wayfarer title.

A title for both mastery and experience of the game. If you ever see a player with the title, rest assured that we have seen and done it all - over and over.

As of the time of this writing, statistics wise: Braytech.org says that there are 9.67% players that have this title.

So you want to become one? Let's start!

There are 22 separate triumphs which you have to achieve. (You can check this under Director, Triumphs, and then the Destinations Seal).

We'll go through them one by one from easy to dreadfully annoying nightmare difficulty.
Lost Sectors:

By now, everyone - even new players - may have noticed this symbol on the map. That means that's a Lost Sector.

I fervently suggest that you go through each and every Lost Sector in all destinations; I am not even kidding. You’re welcome!

You can refer to Braytech's Map [braytech.org] to see the Lost Sectors of every location; it also has a checklist which will mark the ones which you have completed (Ghost scans, collectibles, etc).

By going through Lost Sectors, you'll achieve two triumphs:

- killing Wanted Escapees (some of which are the bosses of a Lost Sector)
- (and) exploring the Lost Sector (PLEASE loot the chest for this to trigger)

You do not need Spider's Wanted bounty to get the Wanted Lost Sector boss triumph, just press F when you see the lost sector boss, loot the chest and you're done!.

There are also wandering Wanted Escapees; basically baddies just going about and doing their business in different locations (on the bottom left side of your screen, it will show the message: A high value target is near by.

When you see that high value target (HVT), shoot it. Do not show mercy.
Heroically Adventurous:
This will take you a while; it's a hard time-gated chase. Your patience here will be tested. For you to achieve this, you will need to complete 5 Heroic Adventures on all pre-Forsaken campaign locations:

- EDZ (Earth)
- Titan
- Nessus
- Io
- Mercury
- Mars

For the first four locations, the Heroic Adventures will only be available if the location is the Flashpoint of the week (there can only be ONE flashpoint location for the week).

SHADOWKEEP CHANGES: You can now only access Mars and Mercury Heroic Adventures when they are the Flashpoint of the week.

On any normal day (regardless of the Flashpoint location) :

For Mercury, you can do three everyday; get them from the Vendor (Brother Vance), provided you have completed the normal adventures (should be the orange icon on your map of Mercury, as is the icon for adventures).

For Mars, Ana will only give you ONE heroic adventure each day (provided you have completed the Warmind campaign).

As of the time of this writing: from the onset of Shadowkeep and The Season of The Undying launch: we have had two flashpoints:

EDZ and The Tangled Shore.

So check Bungie's weekly schedule [www.bungie.net]go to the flashpoint location (EXCEPT FOR Mercury and Mars as aforementioned) and do five heroic adventures (you can repeat one for five times) - basically, you see a heroic adventure - DO THAT, no excuses.
Destination Badges:

If you've completed the aforementioned triumphs (Lost Sectors, Heroic Adventures), you should have 19/22 by now. You need three more and this can be done by completing the Destination Badges (it's under your collections) for the campaigns: The Red War, Curse of Osiris and Warmind and finally, Forsaken.

You only need to do complete the collections badge with one character, as it will carry over your other two characters (say: You're a Warlock main - master race! - you've completed a Destinations Collection - your Hunter and Titan will have this too).

Destinations: Red War
Without a doubt the easiest of them all. The only thing you need to do here is to acquire the complete armor set from the locations:

  • EDZ (Wildwood)
  • Titan (Lost Pacific)
  • Nessus (Exodus Down)
  • Io (Gensym Knight)

There are 20 armor pieces altogether for Red War. Here's a screenshot of my collections

You can easily get these from the vendor - provided you have a high enough reputation rank with them.

But what if you don't?

Easy. Do a bounty everyday (you can do three) - which will give you the planetary materials of the location (30 if you did all three bounties) and you can exchange these for engrams which will increase your reputation to the vendor (and the engram might contain an armor piece).

OR, you can wait for Spider (in The Tangled Shore) to sell the planetary materials that you need to exchange to their respective vendor to claim your engrams/armor pieces

Destinations: Forsaken

Very straightforward albeit time-consuming; you basically need to complete the Forsaken campaign, do bounties, Lost Sectors and challenges (in both the Tangled Shore and The Dreaming City) and you need to acquire the full armor set from The Tangled Shore (Scatterhorn set) and the Dreaming City (Reverie Dawn) on top of 13 weapons from both destinations.

You'll also need to get TWO emblems from Forsaken:

Eye for an Eye: you'll get this emblem after the campaign / defeating all the Barons on The Tangled Shore

Secret Victories: this you can surely get once you complete ALL ascendant challenges in The Dreaming City.

All in all for Forsaken, there are 25 pieces of collectibles altogether that you need to collect so as to complete the badge.

Destinations: Curse of Osiris and Warmind

Still with me? If you have managed to reach this far, congratulations! You have reached the stage in which you might want to reconsider on why you're doing this BUT for sure you're a completionist like I am - so might as well complete it all.

For this collections badge, you'll need to get THIRTY-NINE pieces of armor and weapons; namely:

  • Weapons from the Warmind campaign (Braytech weapons, six of these),
  • IKELOS Weapons (three of these, you can get from Escalation Protocol)
  • and all Lost Prophecies weapons (eleven) in The Curse of Osiris campaign;
  • in addition to that, you also need to get the Armor from Escalation Protocol
  • and the Armor you can get from Mars (through Ana) Mercury (through Brother Vance),

Not only are these a grind, but most of these are also hard time-gated (meaning, you'll have to wait for some things (adventures, bosses) to be available.

THIS here is the real test in becoming a Wayfarer.

Your patience, time, dedication (and sanity) will be put to the test. I promise you, you'll have a LOT of planetary materials from Mars and Mercury once you're done with this.

Let's start with Warmind - Mars

Will link to other sources (videos and articles) so as you can go through each and everything in depth and pinpoint location:

2. Video on How to get Sleeper Stimulant
3. How to use Resonate Stems and Override Frequencies for Braytech Weapons [www.eurogamer.net]

And then we have different articles covering The Curse of Osiris - Mercury: collectibles

2. Perfect Paradox [segmentnext.com]

3. Sagira's Shell [gamerant.com]
Grinding is real
  • A few things to note just so to make your life easier and for you to get the title with ease.

There's ONE Braytech Weapon - the Braytech Osprey Rocket Launcher - which is an exclusive nightfall drop. The nightfall - Strange Terrain (it was available from 15th of October til today, 22nd before reset), if you didn't get this - you'll have to wait for the nightfall to be available again.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you achieve a high score of the Nightfall first before doing speedruns as there's a huge chance that you'll get it; no questions asked - that's tested and proven.

Personally, I have achieved a 135K score on my initial run and speed ran it 7 times (on the 6th time, the two other random guys in my Fireteam received theirs so we did it a seventh time just so I can get my own) and boi, I totally did!

Resonate Stems, you need 4 of these to make ONE Override Frequency that can open a Sleeper Node - you need to open 15 sleeper nodes so you can proceed with your Sleeper Simulant quest steps - Nascent Dawn (there are 40 Sleeper Nodes all in all, BE GRATEFUL you only need to open 15)

You can get Resonate Stems from doing Patrols, Public Events (2 if you did it Heroic) and lost sector loot boxes/wanted enemies.

Personally, I farmed the second lost sector in Mars, Ma'adim Subterrane; rinse and repeat and not to mention skipped basically half of the area; here's a video on how to do this quickly:

Armor pieces from Escalation Protocol loot boxes will drop in this order:

  • Class item (Titan Marks, Hunter Cloaks, Warlock Bonds)
  • Boots
  • Chest piece
  • Gloves
  • Head piece

No duplicates, a guaranteed drop and certainly not RNG, so be grateful for that as well. You can only get ONE armor piece, every week. Told you, time-gated. ♥

SHADOWKEEP CHANGES: You can now farm the level seven Escalation Protocol Boss / Final Boss to your heart's content for you to get the armor roll you want, and the weapon that you need to drop - there won't be any need of Decrypted Cache Key for the final chest; farm it till you get sick of it.

There are Escalation Protocol bosses which may drop three types of the IKELOS weapons (the Sniper, SMG and the Shotgun) AGAIN - these may drop from certain bosses , it just drops from the boss. Here's a list of the bosses and what they might drop. [www.destinypedia.com]

If you didn't get your weapon to drop, do it again, and again - like what I and all the Wayfarers did. Do note that once you have completed level 7, you can interact with the Escalation Protocol thingy again and you'll start from level 6. You don't need to go through all 7 levels of Hive hugging you over and over.

Lost Prophecy and the materials you need to get.

Fossilized Hermaion Blossom - doing a nightfall will grant you THREE (max) of these. No questions asked. Just complete a nightfall, you get three for sure. Period.

You need to have 10 to make these into (ONE) Advanced Paradox Amplifier; you can get these from Strikes (the drops from Strikes are abysmal, I tell you - don't do it), Heroic Adventures (ONLY) in Mercury and any Crucible activities (private matches do not count).

I personally suggest that you, like me, go and get your gun and shoot other guardians and tell them to line up faster! You will get one or two Paradox Amplifiers at the end of each match, I promise! (You can only carry 20 Paradox Amplifiers or 5 Advanced ones.)

You need to have 10 of these to make them into (ONE) Concentrated Radiolarian culture. The best way for you to get this is to go to Titan. Just loot the chests there, a LOT of chests will spawn every now and again. Why Titan, you say? It's a small location and you can basically fast travel from one point to another - rinse and repeat. (You can only carry 20 Radiolarian Culture and 5 concentrated ones)

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE: that if you don't have an active Prophecy in your inventory (the box, yes, that you get from Brother Vance) the aforementioned materials will NOT drop.

So, please for your sanity's sake: don't even try to farm for any of the materials if you don't have a Prophecy in your inventory.

There are ELEVEN all in all for Lost Prophecy Weapons - and once you've completed them all, you'll get Sagira's Shell. Like I did. :D

Closing Thoughts
Personally, this has been a huge undertaking and I have, mind you, read and watched a lot of references and of course played the game a lot.

The, Wayfarer, is my first title. I am currently working on (and almost done) with another: The Cursebreaker

and the dreadfully long wait for me to become a Chronicler.

It's a fun journey, bloody, for sure but I PROMISE, once you get your title - it'll be amazing and you may think of getting more.

I wish you the best, Light-bearer. Don’t let your light be snuffed out.

Cheers! ♥ (Please, do pardon any typos.)

Yeah, think that's the only way now, sorry. Got it for doing all 6 ascendant challenges too

@dead inside girl The Secret Victories emblem used to drop at the same time as the related Drink at the Well sub-emblem from the Blind Well, but I'm pretty sure Bungie removed this with the 2.8.0 update. Now the only way to get Secret Victories is from completing all six Ascendant Challenges. Drink at the Well then drops from Blind Well grinding after you have Secret Victories. You don't HAVE to do the time trials for Secret Victories though (doing them drops the Transcendent sub-emblem), just finish all six challenges (I have tested and confirmed this).

There are three methods of getting the secret victories emblem:
1) Random drop from any tier of blind well
2) Random drop from ascendant challenge chest
3) Guaranteed if you complete all 6 ascendant challenge TIME TRIALS
Based on this you can work out which method you would prefer to farm it on.

@GW

Yep, that is gone now - them decrypted keys requirements from ages ago.

Basically farm the level 6-7 Boss, you’ll surely have all the armor by then and ofc the IKELOS weapons. Enjoy! :csgostar::white:

I'm just wanting to make sure here, did you say that I no longer need decrypted cache keys for the end of escalation protocols?

Because that would make my job a whole lot easier. It's the armor set that'll be really challenging and I want to try and get this title before the DCV hits.

Hey, it's me again. Thanks to your guide I got the wayfarer title today. :pervert:

Note for others: I got Secret Victories after I completed all 6 ascendant challenges. They only count if you open the chest and leave the portal. There is one challenge (Keep of Honed Edges) where you have to leave with the sword.
