What is a trade?
  • Trade — a system that allows users to exchange in-game items, gifts, Steam trading cards and other community items. The most popular in this area are items from games such as Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2.
Who are protraders?
The word "Protrader" could be explained in two different ways.
  • Protrader — a person who professionally exchanges Steam in-game items for a profit.

  • Protrader — a person who seeks buy stuff at the lowest possible price and sell for the highest possible (in this case the word is used with sarcasm).

Who are scammers?
  • Scammer — a person who receives personal information about users for the purpose of using them for personal gain. They prey on the gullible and inexperienced players, using clever tricks. There are many types of scam.
The most common types of scam
[/u]
  • Scam for real money
This is perhaps the easiest and most common way of cheating. You transfer the money, and the seller with the product runs away. To avoid such situations, you can use the services of proven middlemans or take money / commodity forward.

  • Stealing passwords
The scammer convinces you to give details of your account, under various pretexts, for example: free games or copying items. Do not believe those people. Copying items in Steam is impossibly.

  • Quickswitch
Quickswitch - quick substitution of one object to another. Most often, it is the replacement of expensive object with a rare effect for a cheap effect-item. Typically, the scammers rename both subjects, giving them the same name that at the time when they replace one object to another it looks like same items. If it's posible, scammer can use the same paint to different items. Be careful, chek items before you accepting trade.

  • Phishing
Scammers create a copy of the site and send the victim a reference to it in any way. This most often it occurs on trading websites under the request for adding to deal. They get all of your information that you entered on this site and use them to their advantage.
Be very careful crossing the links. Carefully check the references on Steam profile to all the letters coincide with the gtm.steamproxy.vip and no extra letters were not.

  • Chargeback scamms
Chargeback - the process by which the amount of the payment is deducted from the non-acceptance of the recipient and returned to the taxpayer.
In operations with the money necessary to be extremely careful. Scammers use the patronage of the transaction for its own purposes. After receiving items they chargeback their money and runs away. Especially true for PayPal.

At the moment there are no restrictions to buy or sell items for money, but I warn you that Steam doesn't support it (exception - Steam Community Market)

Remember that "free lunch" is only in a mousetrap. Never scam people, even in a difficult position. It ends badly.
Websites for traders
There are special websites that help people find or create themselves different trades Below is a list of such sites for Team Fortress 2, Dota 2 and CS:GO.

Team Fortress 2

Dota 2

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Later I will add more websites, and a brief description of each of them.
