I created a series of special scenarios with the scenario editor. These scenarios will help you with getting most of the achievements from Age of Empires Definitive Edition.

The only achievements that can't be unlocked via custom scenarios are the campaign achievements and Res Publica.

I've added additional informations about Res Publica (see below).

Just download the scenario with the achievements you want to unlock from the provided link below. Then copy the file (Achievements_##.aoescn) to your scenario folder. Start a single player game and select the scenario.

You should read the in-game scenario instructions and tips carefully, they provide useful informations on how to unlock the achievements.

Note that it is possible to unlock "Eye in the sky" and "Feet on the ground" with every scenario if you either train no archers (Eye in the sky) or no cavalry (Feet on the ground), but you have to win the scenario. It is also possible to unlock "Atlas" with nearly every scenario, if you scout the whole map. I didn't mention these achievements in every scenario.

IMPORTANT: Victory Type has to be "Standard", otherwise you can't win by artifacts, ruins or wonder!

I recommend setting the game speed to Very Fast. Then use the cheat code STEROIDS* to speed everything up even more!

Just type STEROIDS in the chat box and hit enter. Cheat Codes do not disable achievements in AoE1DE.

If Archimedes doesn't unlock, try it again in scenario #8 by researching Zealotry.

To get the achievement "Wololo", you have to run this scenario four or five times (depends on how many units you've converted previously).

Due to massive lag, I decided to put only 250 priests on the map at once.

I recommend to play the map on "explored" or "all visible".

You don't have to build all the houses if you've already built houses (in the campaigns for example). Just build the amount of houses that you still need to unlock the achievement.

To get the main achievements in this scenario, you have to play it four times!

I've put the enemy units in 5 tight formations (50 clubmen and a scout each), but the AI always started to wander around with them on the whole map, so I recommend to play this map on "See everything".

Select all stables by double clicking. Hold the Shift key and click the Scythe Chariot icon twenty times to train 100 Scythe Chariots.

If you don't want to build a wonder, use your 100 Scythe Chariots to destroy Player 2.

Res Publica

There are two options to get Res Publica (Win a ranked ELO game):


1. Win a "Quickmatch"

To start a quickmatch, start the game and go to Multiplayer > Quickmatch.

A quickmatch pairs you up with random other players in ranked matches.

You have to win the match to unlock the achievement.


2. Setting up your own Multiplayer game (with a friend)

To unlock the achievement with the help of a friend (and without the need to actually play and win a game), you can set up your own Multiplayer game.

Start the game and go to Multiplayer > Create Game. Change the Lobby Type to "Invite only" and the Game Mode to "Random map 1v1" or "Deathmatch".
If you've set up your Lobby, use the in-game invite function to invite a friend.

• When your friend joined your lobby, make sure the game is displayed as "ranked" before starting the game.
  
  
• To get the achievement, the game needs to be a minimum of 5 minutes* long!
  
  
• Press F11 to display the game time.
  
  
• Simply resigning immediately after the start does not unlock the achievement.

*5 minutes game time, not real time (I just tested it)

I would suggest the following: Player 1 (who needs the achievement) either trains some military units to kill all villagers of player 2 or Player 2 (who is helping) resigns after 5 minutes. Player 2 has to delete his TC.

If player 2 needs the achievement too, play the same setting again but in reverse.
