V3 'Gatty'

Beskrivning


The V3 "Gatty" was designed as a light utility helicopter for the MSV Post. It's a two-seated, diesel-powered vehicle that will support you in your missions.

It features two 20-meter winches that can be extended on both sides of the craft. There's a rudimentary 3-axis autopilot installed to keep your position while operating the equipment. The helicopter can reach 35 knots cruise speed and with the two large tanks has some considerable range as well.

Don't forget to check out the MSV Post if you want to circumnavigate the world! (I wonder how many people get the reference)

Let me know in the comments with any suggestions or improvements and feel free to change, strip and re-upload the helicopter to your hearts content.

will we get a remake of the chopper? i think it broke again because the fire. I am new to stormworks and i dont know if i just suck or what but i cant get any engines too cool on my creations. anyone know whats up?

I have been using the Gatty with no issues for a week or so, but since this morning it catches fire on its bottom short after taking off...

This is nuts. I tried various configurations of radiators and heat sinks. No luck. Then I build a small container with a water-fluid-spawner, an inlet and outlet and now the engine stays cool. Stormworks physics is funky!
The Gatty works for now, but I expect that she'll break again once SW patches up the fluid dynamics.
The main issue with this helicopter is that I built everything to be small - there's no unused space in the back of the heli, and therefore the options are somewhat limited. Let's see how long she'll fly in this configuration and if a future update breaks her again I will probably just re-design her from scratch.
