Introduction
Hello, in this guide I would like to show you how to fix various issues you might or might have encountered when playing this great game and various enhancements that will improve it even further.
FIXES
Fixing the crash at startup
This issue has 2 solutions depending on your hardware.

If you have a microphone:
Just plug it in.
Really, that's it

If you don't have a microphone:
1. Go to your operating system's control panel
2. Click on "Sound"
3. Go to recording devices, right click the window and tick both
"Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices"
4. Right click "Stereo Mix" and click enable
Fixing black screen bug
1. Open Discord
2. Go to settings
3. Disable discord overlay

If this doesn't work
1. Right click BattlefrontII.exe
2. Click properties
3. Go to the compatibility tab and set compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2
Fixing the menu and HUD for higher resolutions
Download the latest version of the SWBF2 Remastered mod
https://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-battlefront-ii-full-hd-interface/downloads

And simply install using the installer.

If you prefer the original HUD over the bigger one, go to

Star Wars Battlefront II/Gamedata/data/_lvl_pc/remaster

Make a backup of StockHUDHD.lvl, delete the one in the remaster folder and rename StockHUD.lvl to StockHUDHD.lvl

Note: This mod comes with a customised version of Unofficial patch 1.3, too so you don't have to install it afterwards or beforehand.
Fixing the AMD GPU terrain glitch
Download this:
https://mega. nz/folder/8tlAhDyQ#2AkAQukJKAYuIWEzDTGtFA/folder/IslFkTSL
Pick the 15.10 dll file
and place in the GameData folder.
Restoring EAX support
IMPROVEMENTS
Customisable shaders and support for maps with PBR materials
Install shader patch from here:
https://github.com/SleepKiller/shaderpatch/releases

I highly suggest using the preview versions as they feature a lot of new features that are not in stable releases, yet.

You can also use various shaders in similar way to Reshade. The key to open the effects system interface is \ by default.
Restoring vehicle cockpits
Due to Star Wars Battlefront II's rushed development, there was no time to properly implement cockpits like in Star Wars Battlefront I, but they can be still restored using this file:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/cockpit-sides/downloads/side-cockpits
Star Wars Battlefront I maps
You can easily get the maps from the 2004 Battlefront I in Battlefront II using Marvel4's conversion pack 1.1:
https://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/downloads/marvel4s-conversion-pack

Note:
This mod has nothing to do with Conversion Pack 2.2 (which features less accurate versions of SWBF1 maps ported by a different person and some new gamemodes and eras)
Conclusion
If anything new arises, I will update this guide accordingly. I hope it helped. Enjoy!

A solution to random crashes would be great. Or at least a reliable method for diagnosing the cause that doesn't involve hours of tweaking random stuff.

@LUNAR ¤ WHITE The blue translucent prim bug is caused from using a resolution higher than 1920x1080. It can be fixed with the shader patch https://www.moddb.com/mods/shader-patch/downloads

I've got an odd glitch where the text is all messed up. The word "null" shows up a lot instead of the actual text from the game. Any idea what the issue is?

My friend is trying to download the HUD mod but their antivirus keeps detecting a trojan in it, is anyone else having this issue? I did not have the same issue when i downloaded it two months ago.

I have an Intel gen 14 i9 with a 4090 laptop gpu. On Degobah I'm getting a weird glitch where there's a giant blue translucent prim blocking the view of the bottom half my view, basically the ground near me. It tilts when my mouse moves up and down. Is there a fix for this? It's the only map with a visual glitch so far. Thanks.

Thank you for posting the 1.1 conversion pack link. I can't stand the unofficial patch and all the fanfic shit added in 2.2 so this was exactly what I needed.

The filter doesn't seem to like mega links much and I thought people would notice that and just remove the space considering URLs cannot have spaces.
