How to get SkyrimVR to work with Index controllers

I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews saying it doesn't work with index controllers... If that's your only grip with the game then it can be fixed within 5 minutes.

You need use 1 of these mods

A button fix

VRIK's index button mapping (Second file download)

You then need to go into SteamVR's interface remapping for skyrim and change it to either the A button fix or VRIK

Now if you want to customize your control layout for skyrim you can use this handy tool

It's a remapping tool for oculus touch contollers... but it works just fine with the index.

When you open up that tool, just point it towards the controlmapvr.txt file... This is usually located in SkyrimVR -> Data -> Interface -> controls -> pc

You can change the controls to skyrim for whatever you want... Personally I like using Natural locomotion to run and jump IRL so I changed some buttons for skyrim.

Have fun! The index controllers work great with skyrim if you take 5 minutes to fix it.

I don't understand why someone would buy Skyrim or FalloutVR without the intention to mod it honestly

thanks for the tip but do you feel the irony of you questionning the anger of consumers that can't use a title without the use of a community mod?

I have tried to use the above recommendations but I can't get to work. I have installed the A button fix mod. When I go into SteamVR's interface remapping i don't see where to change it to the A button fix. All I see is the default index controller binding choice. Please help. Can't play game.

I just got the game and tried it on my Index. The control scheme doesn't feel really intuitive but it worked out of the box without me doing anything.
