Beskrivning
Mid to Late game firepole alternative. Now with config!

Description
End game bases require lots of moving and shaking to get to places. Have you ever wanted to reduce the amount of ladders/fire poles? Well this is what this mod aims to do! A mid-to-late game climbing option that pairs the upward speed of a ladder and the downward speed of a fire pole.

Specifics
  • 1.2x Upward Climbing Speed (Same as Plastic Ladder)
  • 4.5x Downward Climbing Speed (.125x Faster than a traditional Fire Pole)
  • Costs 125 Steel and 25 Plastic
  • Unlocked through High-Temperature Forging (Same tier as Bunker Tile)
Speed in reference to the default ladder.

Configuration
Config.json.template file can be found in:
  • Windows: ~\Documents\Klei\OxygenNotIncluded\mods\Steam\1859795981\
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/unity.Klei.Oxygen Not Included/mods/Steam/1859795981/

A template file Config.json.template is provided, simply copy, remove the .template from the filename and remove the comments (//).

Config has the following variables:
  • ClimbSpeed - Speed multiplier for upward travel (between 0 and 10). (default: 1.2)
  • FallSpeed - Speed multiplier for downward travel (between 0 and 10). (default: 4.5)

So btw the downwards speed is apparently bugged , no matter what u set it to its always the same as the standart pole

I see the same things as VoiD. I often have to restrict dupes' pathing options when using these.

I like the idea of the mod! Unfortunately, I do have a problem. Before you continue, the config is default and I'm playing vanilla CS-466292-0. If it's a version conflict, maybe it's that simple and no need to read on.

I downloaded it today and started replacing a bunch of my plastic ladders with it. All seemed fine until I noticed some dupes taking wide paths to old stone ladders I made for mining/building. The dupes seem to ignore the Ribbed Fire Pole if a stock ladder is usable, even if the path is terrible. Maybe there is something off with the priority, or the dupes don't understand how fast the Ribbed Pole is?

Any chance of adding the materials cost to the config file? It'd be nice to be able to make them cheaper/from other materials if the user desires.
