Arthur Leywin is the main protagonist of The Beginning After The End. In his previous life, he was a king named Grey before he was reincarnated into a new world, on the continent of Dicathen.
In his former world, he lived as a king who stood on the top of his country in terms of combat, until he was assassinated through poison one day.
After being reincarnated into the Leywin Family, Grey decided that unlike his previous life, he would live his life to the fullest. To be loved, and surrounded by the friends and family he was void of in his past life.
In his previous life, Arthur lived by the name Grey. He lived on a distant future, dystopian Earth, where he was an orphan and lived in an orphanage with his childhood friends, Nico and Cecilia. Due to the miserable situation of the orphanage, they had to make money by stealing. After the assassination of the Headmaster of the orphanage, whom Grey loved as a mother, he swore vengeance; he enrolled in cadet school intending to become King; all that to find those who are accountable for the Headmaster's death. As Grey, he never dated nor loved, due to dedicating his whole life solely for the sake of becoming the strongest. Soon after the wars were replaced by Paragon Duels, Grey retired from being the king.

Arthur Leywin, as he was reincarnated into the world, kept his memories from his past life. This allowed him to be skilful in swordsmanship and to be a great strategist at a very young age. Compared to his previous life, where he had few friends and no family. In his new life, he protects his family and those who are close to him at all costs. He has difficulties in expressing his emotions since, as a King, he needed to seal his emotions from everyone to protect himself from his enemies. Arthur also has been known to get really angry sometimes, due to his being a king in his past life. Arthur has gotten mad at King Glayder but later was composed.
