And fair play, I just thought I'd mention that bit about Quinking’s final phase for those that may end up saying "OMG, he's not down yet!!! What do I do, what do I do?!" in a panic after beating the first one. So that way they don't end up dying due to not thinking straight, and then have to replay the entire mission again in order to get another shot.

3. As your guide doesn’t mention anything about Quinking’s second/final phase, then I’ll say that you should keep your Invinciblerang equipped until his tail glows. At which point, swap to the Shadowrang, hit his tail with it, repeat this two more times, and you’ll have conquered by far the most difficult Ty game to do a Hardcore run on, imo.
1. Ty 3's Hardcore achievements stack with their Normal mode equivalents, and the same goes for Ty's 1 & 2 btw. So to all newcomers of this series that want to get all the cheevos in each game, you won't have to worry about having to do two 100% playthroughs. And if you still don't believe me, search my profile's games for Ty’s 1-3, then have a look at the date & times for the following:
- Ty 1’s Boss Cass Smacked, Boss Cass Smacked (HardCore), Get All The Things! and Get All The Things! (HardCore).
- Ty 2’s Bush Rescued, Bush Rescued (Hardcore), Everything and the Kitchen Sink and Everything and the Kitchen Sink (Hardcore).
and
- Ty 3’s All Done, Horror Movie, Done and Dusted and It’s a Long Way to the Top.
The worst thing that happens is that you're sent back to whatever phase of the fight you were on last, with the Dragonquin's health being restored to whatever status it's meant to have at the start of that phase.
