V6 Block - Making Power
Introduction

****Note: It was pointed out to me that the previous version of this guide had some uh... major errors. I was using the wrong dyno chart. I've changed the guide to be more accurate as of 6/17/2020, now using the American 4.7 diesel and making 1291 HP and 1000 ft-lbs.

I've noticed over my last two V6 builds that the diesel fuel rail absolutely creams the methanol rail. The American 4.7 uses it extremely well, and I'm doing that here to creep across the 1240 horsepower mark.

Parts List

American V6 Block
4.7 Crankshaft
American Pistons
4.7 Connecting Rods
European V6 DTM Camshafts
V6 Heads and Covers
Stock intake manifold
Adjustable / Diesel Fuel Rail
Nos Rail @ Personal preference PSI
Twin Turbocharger @ 13.22 PSI
-- You can sacrifice dyno HP for overall speed by increasing PSI and NOS usage
Twin Supercharger
AWD Automatic V6 Trans

Universal V6 Parts and Miscellany

Tuning

All Camshafts at -15 except Left Exhaust at -11
A/FR 20.00
Redline NOS Dependent

The below graph is an older one using either this or an extremely similar setup, but even hitting 1240+ on this setup yields huge power/torque for a humble V6.

The setup on the chart is using a roots supercharger along with the twin turbo, although i couldn't quite get the torque band that late without valve float effects kicking in. Maybe a different camshaft set would work?

Hey thanks for checking up on it. Its an awesome build either way a d I appreciate the guide. I hope to see you on Street Tuning Evolution as I'm willing to bet I'll be checking those guides as well

I found the problem, @Candian Ampersand. The dyno graph I used was from a different engine build. I'm editing this guide to match the engine graph, but it's performed with the American block and the 4.7 crank and pistons.

Hey I know this build is from a while ago but im getting 1138 with the turbos maxed and following your settings. Could it be a bit more specific?

Thanks, this is one of the more fun ones I made. I'm also a huge fan of the inline 6 with a low-level NOS injection and a single huge turbo. Creates amazing speed on a very controllable car with small nos usage.

Also strongly recommend the RB26 workshop pack.

Wow, I never saw a v6 engine build. Thanks for sharing.
