NEW RANGER TECH FOR GRENADES CONFIRMED
By EDF; Storm 1
A friend of mine, known as Zeddy (the guy best known for his In-Depth Class and Inferno Mission Guides in EDF 4.1), discovered a new tech with the DNG Grenades. I am simply relaying the Information.

Back in the days of EDF 4.1...
The Ranger (as well as all of the other classes partially, but ranger in particular) had this well known tech known as "Switch Canceling". It essentially boils down to this: In the middle of an extensive after-attack animation, or when your weapon won't stop firing, you switch weapons to stop the animation. You can then immediately switch back to either start reloading the weapon after skipping the animation, like with the Stringer Sniper Rifle, or to start up the attack again like with the subject of this guide: The DNG Grenades.

When EDF 5 came around? The ability to Switch Cancel has been removed from certain weapons. The Stringer, lucky gun that it is, was able to keep this ability after being renamed to the "Fang" series of Rifles. The DNG, however, was not as fortunate. When you use this weapon, you bring devastating burst damage at ranges that can even outdo Snipers. It can even outdo the Stringer at times in terms of destructive power! But as a side effect, you're forced to sit through an extensive animation of the Ranger throwing the Grenade which leaves you wide open. You cannot skip this animation by switching weapons, no matter how hard you try.

Not until TODAY.
How it's done.
First thing's first!

Obviously, you select Ranger and put any of the DNG Grenades into one of your Weapon Slots. No other equipment necessary, you just need the weapon itself. Then, take it into any mission you want to use it on.

Performing the Tech Itself.

Get out your DNG, select your Target, pull the Pin and let the throw charge.

Do not release the Mouse Button when the charge is finished.
Instead? Press the Dash Key, default being Shift, and it will start the throw.

Congratulations, my friend! You just broke through the major downside of using the DNG 'Nades!

Introducing: DNG Canceling!

Now that the throw has started, NOW you can release the Attack! And now, you can cancel the DNG Throwing Animation at any time! So long as you press the Sprint Key to start the throw, instead of releasing the Mouse Button!

It's as simple as watching for when the Grenade leaves the Ranger's Hand, and then cancel out of the throw by Switching Weapons! Be careful though, cancel it too early and the Grenade will not be thrown. Instead, the projectile itself is canceled too. But even if you can't launch the attack in time, this can help you to hurry up and get away from any enemies getting too close for comfort.

(Previous Information about canceling the animation with any move was later proven false. Apologies for giving out wrong information.)
And that's it!
Thank you for taking your time to read this Guide, soldiers. Now get out there, and blast some Bugs with the now Unlocked Potential of the DNGs!

This Guide has been brought to you, thanks to:
  • Me, Gordon Freeman, because i'm the guy who wrote all this down.
  • Zeddy, fellow EDF nut who brought me this Information after he was told of it by another fellow EDF nut known as Vlady.
  • Storm-1, fellow member of the EDF Discord who made the Branding Image for the guide.
  • And fellow EDF fans like you, putting yourselves on the Front Lines to protect our planet from the Invading Alien Menace!

Remember, gentlemen. We're all in this together!

For the Pride of the EDF!
For Honor!
For Earth!

Bonus: The Branding Image in question for those who want it. Go nuts.
