Thank you to this guide for providing the basis for my work on this profile.

The game can mostly be played using the right hand to progress the story. I also added some additional options I thought would be handy, like the Steam Overlay and volume control (for those times when the atmosphere gets intense.)

The Home Button will open the Steam Overlay so you can check community guides, etc.
The Back Button is the equivalent of using F12 to take a screenshot via Steam.
The Start Button will open the in-game menu.
A is the Left Mouse button click for selecting things in-game. This will also advance text by a single line if the menu isn't toggled.
Left joystick will direct the mouse while the Right joystick serves as a scrollwheel.
B is the button to Advance Text by a single line.
Y will hide the textbox so you can see the background and character art.
Left Bumper toggles Auto Mode. Press it again to cancel Auto Mode.
Right Bumper toggles Skip Mode. Press it again to cancel Skip Mode.
Left Trigger brings up the backlog (pressing it will scroll through the backlog)
Right Trigger will fast forward through multiple lines of text as long as it is pressed down.
D-Pad Up and D-Pad Down increase and decrease system volume, respectively.
D-pad Right allows you to swap between the original sprites and the updated sprites.
D-pad Left allows you to swap between Japanese and English.

Arthritis has really cut down on my ability to use a mouse/keyboard. I stumbled upon Controller Companion and it's been an absolute lifesaver and I've not been able to play games properly in years, so I'm thrilled. I'm hoping this helps expands the accessibility of Higurashi because I think it's such a fantastic story that I want everyone to get the chance to experience it.

Controller Companion is $3USD and I can't recommend it enough as someone with a tight budget. The itch.io store page[kogatech.itch.io] includes a key for Steam as well as a DRM copy, if you want to support the developers directly.

I tried to make the profile work as intuitively as possible and have added the description of the in-game effect to the button help. If you have any suggestions I'm very open to hearing them. It should work with a variety of controllers and operating systems. I'm on Windows 7 and using an XBOX 360 wired controller to make these.
