Mortheim Front (AKA Kampf um Mortheim) is one of my all-time favorite COH modded map. Its simply fun and holds a challenging vsAI play. Yet as a PvP map, its more suited for organized teams and experienced players than random pick-up games where novices teammates roams. But novices don't be discourage from this map for if you ever conquered the more difficult AI opponents as Axis and as Allies would honed you into a strong tactical whiz in COH1.

VS Hard or Expert AI:
There's mayhem out there and its the way the map was build. Unforgiving sight-lines, nearly invisible routes, cornered positions in the middle of wide-open spaces and to make the chaos' factor more blissful with many easily found tactical opportunities suddenly rearing itself momentarily to either create, escape and/or evade in order to ambush or counter them. The pathfinders for infantry and small vehicles here are deceivingly seen, found and use and since you are no bot, the AI will be more than the usual handful of trouble here. As matter of fact the AI's plays looks like a grind-down flanking genius player more than just a bot on this map.

Players VS Players:
In the name of fairness you ought to know these 2 points about this map before reading my own opinion about how to approach playing on this map:
1. There's a river in the middle of the map that can create more play surprisingly well and that's why I recommend you never expect much of a defensive value from the river and its bridges.

2. Both sides of the teams have an isolated third starting base separated by a bridge over the river and any organized teammates and all competent players of this games knows that that isolated enemy player has to go more now than any time later.

This map looks to be made for advance COH players more than for novice players and I have provided you with a skinny on how you can get a shutout here fast against a team of novices players, in order to make sure all players whom read description will never be THOSE NOVICE PLAYERS. So if you managed to overcome these two disadvantages about the map's advantages; you are no novice and are ready for this trench-style + urban-style map settings. Also, remember this a war game, so don't confuse fair-play with alert play; the objective here is the same as all other games... which is to win and fortune favors the alert more than that other type of player.

MORE ABOUT PVP:
This map makes great fast 3v3 250 VP's games.

Also the map plays more exciting with a 2v2 annihiliate scenario with both isolated bases closed. (TOTALLY RECOMMENDED CHILLING WITH FRIENDS IN A FRIENDLY MATCH OR PLAYING AGAINST RESPECTED RIVALS UNDER THIS LAST MENTIONED SCENARIO CONDITION.

Hi VoyRager. I've just played this nice and full detailed map with 3 mods: Blitzkrieg, Eastern Fronts and Modern Combat vs normal AI, annhilate, fixed positions. If AI's position is nr.3 (upper right corner) in the first 2 mods (BK,EF) is stuck within the limits of the command sector and builds on the only exit, so troops and vehicle cannot exit. In MC, AI goes trough barbed wire or ostacles but is a mod problem that I've already seen in other maps. There's a nice section with bunkers, emplacements in the left middle part of the map but I think is out of the battle focus due the presence of the bridges. That's my report on this well done map. Thank you very much.
