Human Team
Here are the tips and tricks for the Human Team.

1. Get a good weapon.
By this, I mean get a weapon you are comfortable with. Don't get semi-auto or snipers, unless you want to. In this game, the AWP is basically useless. For example, get a gun that scopes, like the AUG, that way you can hit enemies from farther away and be accurate about it. On most Zombie Mod servers, you can either open the buymenu or type !zmarket into chat.

2. Find a Camping Spot.
This is normally frowned upon in the normal CS:S gamemodes, but in Zombie Mod, you're going to have to camp if you want to survive. Some recommended places would be: narrow walkways, tunnels that you need to crouch into, a roof, a high place, inside a shipping crate, a room with a sliding or one-way door, and secret places.

3. Your not safe yet.
If you get a good hiding/camping spot, you may want to look for any places that anyone can get in. If a survivor can get in with out using a weapon, a zombie can get in too. Some things to look for are: glass windows, loose props in an opening, breakable objects, etc. Just be careful if you are in a room. If zombies manage to get in, you have no way out.

4. Prop 'cading
You may have noticed a lot of props around the maps. Well, you can shoot these props and make them move. If you find yourself in a room with some movable props, use them to block a door or opening into your room. However, zombies can move most props by pressing the Use button, although it is rather slow depending on the zombie's class and the weight of the prop.

5. Secret sweet spots.
In the majority of maps, there are bound to be secrets. Some are easy, some are hard; use them to your advantage. Whether it's a walk-through wall, a teleporter, an invisible bridge, or something else, make that your new "home". However, some other players might know about the secret spots, so watch out for zombies that might know about your location.

6. Sky-diving
Some servers have a parachute mod. Take this into mind when looking/going for a hiding spot. On most servers, just hit the Use key (default is E) and a parachute will help you glide to places. The speed of your gliding is based upon the speed you had when you jumped or fell, so try to make your speed be good for the place you're going for.

7. 2+ people is a party (sometimes)!
When looking for a hiding spot, go where there are lots of people going, as those people probably found the good spots. However, on some servers, the zombification process is instant, meaning that the person who becomes the Mother Zombie gets turned right at that spot, which can be very bad for groups. But, on other servers, the person who becomes a Mother Zombie is teleported back to the spawn point and everyone else is safe.
Zombie Team
These are tips for the Zombie Team.

1. Crouch-hopping.
You can easily go through tight spaces, mostly tunnels you need to crouch to get through, just by doing this: hold the Crouch key and a directional key, and tap the Jump kay as fast as you can! Your knockback momentum resets after each landing, so you can get to the humans with ease.

2. Knockback.
When you're shot, there is knockback. Yeah. If you get hit in the body, you are knocked back a little bit. When hit in the head, you are knocked back farther, so watch out!

3. Beacons.
Some servers have beacons that show where the last human is at. These beacons can be seen through walls and will help you and your teammates out in a jam. But hurry, they are on a timer!

4. Firebombs.
Grenades on most servers, after the explosion, will cause any nearby zombie to become on fire. I this state, zombies move slower and jump shorter. Being on fire also causes a small amount of damage; fires can be put out by crouching into water (not all water sources can do that, though).

5. Stacking.
You can stand on a team-mate's (or enemy's) head to get to high places.

6. Use the Radar!
Your radar ingame can show you if your team-mates have found a human. If you see a blue dot or arrow on your radar, head for that spot if you can't find any humans.

7. Hearing Aids.
Listen closely for gunshot sounds nearby. This can help you find a human! (For best results, use headphones.)

@terjelm Some people are really good with an AWP, so don't quite take my word for it, just use what you feel is necessary and a good choice :)

Zombie mod is where you have to survive until the timer runs down, or kill all the zombies. Zombie escape is where you have to flee from zombies, and hold them off at various holding spots until you reach the end, which is usually some kind of saferoom or an aircraft that carries you away, while the zombies are "nuked".
