"I started off with wire ropes suspended in an arc between the two towers and to the banks, but the bridge kept collapsing. The more steel and wire rope I added to try and make it stronger, the more the budget went up, but it didn't work. Eventually I simplified it by using straight fabric ropes tethered an equal distance from the apex of the two towers. The bridge was still wobbly, but it held up."
