Step 1
Press the [ESC] button on the top left corner of your keyboard.

Step 2
Locate your cursor to the bottom right corner of your screen, and click the "Leave Match" icon. Once doing so, it will ask you if you're absolutely sure you want to quit, but what you'll want to do, is click "Yes".

Step 3
Once Step 1 and Step 2 have been completed, you will be brought to a second screen with another "Leave Match" icon. Click it.

Step 4
Exit the application. But instead of navigating through more menial menus, just hit your keyboard with a quick and easy [ALT] + [F4]. Once doing so, you will be brought to your desktop where you can ponder about and reflect on your actions.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Steps 1-3 can be skipped. By hitting [ALT] + [F4] mid-match, you can bypass all previous methods. With that being said, the subsequent step under the provided title of "Step 5" has been deemed as highly paramount and requires any reader's full and undivided attention.

Step 5
You've done it.

You have successfully disconnected from your Dead by Daylight match. In fact, you've managed to completely close the application.

But that's not exactly all you've done. You have capitulated to your emotions. Given into your falsely perceived indignation. Succumbed to your anguish, jealousy and other lowly annoyances.

Don't get my words twisted, however. I never said it wasn't okay to feel such emotions. To experience is one thing. But to act on your emotions is an entirely other thing.

Because of your actions, you have left your teammates behind. You have taken the satisfaction of victory from a poor adversary. And most importantly, you have caused guilt for yourself.

All of these outcomes are at the forefront of one action. The action of one person who was uncomfortable with certain variables they felt no control over.

I am going to ask you to please overlook your next decisions in the future. To think before you act. You can never predict any unforeseen consequence.

IN CONCLUSION

I leave this guide to you, not as an insult, or at a petty attempt to mock those who disconnect in video games.

But to tell you, that it's okay. It's okay to feel anger. It's okay to feel annoyed at uncontrollable things.

Take a deep breath. Take a break. Go outside. Forgive yourself. And when you're ready, you can queue-up another match, launch another game or do really anything else of the sort.

Love yourself. You deserve it.
