I think when I use to play this the mode was set for deathmatch for it to work but ever since they've updated the game its fucked all of these custom zombie maps ive wanted to play and ive tried loading the map on each different mode but it seems to not work like it use too =/

You need to lower the ammo capacity, having 99shotgun shells, 40 rifle cartriges and 60 pistol clips is way too much. Also there so many spawn points with ammo that it lowers the immersion of survival. Still, I'd love to see this ammo capacity mod implemented in vanila pavlov to lower the firing spam in game

Have you tried aiming for the head? Technically that or the spinal cord is the only real way to kill a zombie.
