I find that W1, despite still being focused on alchemy and potions, does not require that many uses of potions as does W3 so you can get away with a lot less potions than one might think. Also Chapter 2 is pretty early and you'll come across plenty more alcohol bases yet. Just remember to sell whatever you find (mostly, I keep some items just for sentiment's sake) and check vendors for alcohol bases. That's all I can muster up from my memory lol.
Nevertheless, yea it is frustrating but for the first few times you play dice, it's alright but when it becomes every chapter's chore to HAVE to win some rounds of the dice, it becomes annoying even more.
