1. Getting Started
Welcome to this guide on how to improve your aim with a custom crosshair. In Counter-Strike 2, your crosshair is one of the most important tools for precise aiming and consistently hitting your shots.

While the game now offers an in-game crosshair editor, using console commands or a workshop map is still the most effective way to get the exact crosshair you want.

Let's begin.
1. Enabling the Console
If you're looking to gain a competitive edge in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), the developer console is an essential tool. It allows you to fine-tune your game settings beyond what's available in the standard menu. Here's a quick guide on how to enable and access it.

Enable the Console

First, you need to enable the console in your game settings.

Go to Settings > Game.

Look for the Enable Developer Console option.

Toggle it to Yes

Set Your Console Key
By default, the console key is usually the backtick key ( ~ ) located just below the Escape key. However, you can change this to any key you prefer.

Go to Settings > Keyboard / Mouse.

Find the Toggle Console option and click to assign a new key.

With the console enabled and a key assigned, you're ready to start using commands to optimize your gameplay.
2. Customizing Your Crosshair with Console Commands
Once your console is open, you can enter commands to create a crosshair. The settings below are a great starting point, but you can customize them to your liking.

Commands:

cl_crosshairalpha "200"
// Sets the transparency of the crosshair. 0 is invisible, 255 is solid.
cl_crosshaircolor "4"
// The crosshair color. 0=red, 1=green, 2=yellow, 3=blue, 4=custom color.
cl_crosshaircolor_b "255"
// Sets the blue value for a custom color (cl_crosshaircolor 4).
cl_crosshaircolor_g "250"
// Sets the green value for a custom color (cl_crosshaircolor 4).
cl_crosshaircolor_r "255"
// Sets the red value for a custom color (cl_crosshaircolor 4).
cl_crosshairdot "1"
// Adds a dot to the center of the crosshair. 0=off, 1=on.
cl_crosshairgap "1"
// The space between the crosshair lines. Negative values make the lines overlap.
cl_crosshairsize "2"
// The length of the crosshair lines.
cl_crosshairstyle "4"
// The style of the crosshair. 4 is the classic, static crosshair.
cl_crosshairthickness "1.5"
// The thickness of the crosshair lines.
cl_crosshairusealpha "1"
// Allows you to use the cl_crosshairalpha setting. 0=off, 1=on.

Note: You may have to enter these commands one at a time, followed by Enter in the console.
3. Alternative Ways to Customize Your Crosshair
While console commands are a great way to fine-tune your crosshair, there are a couple of other methods you can use.

The In-Game Crosshair Editor
The built-in editor in CS2 allows you to adjust your crosshair from within the settings menu. It's a convenient option for making quick changes.

Go to Settings > Game > Crosshair.

You can adjust settings like Length, Thickness, Gap, and Color.

Workshop Maps
The easiest and most popular method for creating a custom crosshair is by using a community-made workshop map. These maps let you test out hundreds of professional player crosshairs, or create your own with a few clicks.

A great option is the "Crashz' Crosshair Generator" map, which you can find in the Steam Workshop.

How to use a Workshop map:

Go to the Steam Workshop for CS2 and subscribe to a crosshair generator map.

Launch CS2 and go to Play > Workshop Maps.

Select the map you subscribed to.

In the map, you can select from a variety of pro player crosshairs or customize your own. The map will automatically generate the commands for you.
4. Thank you
I'm confident that with a custom crosshair, you'll start to see your aim improve in no time.

Thanks for reading!
