Introduction
While this isn't going to be an extensive and complete guide for this game, it will explain three important tips to always keep in mind, intended for new players who are confused on why their shots sometimes do not go as intended and planned.
Lie condition
The lie condition (Where your ball rests) isn't only about the grass or sand, but its incline and shape. You can press [Shift] to see the conditions of your lie.
-If your ball rests uphill, your ball will lose distance, go higher and be more sensitive to wind
-If your ball rests downhill, your ball will gain distance, go lower and be less sensitive to wind
-If your ball rests sideways, your ball will change direction to the corresponding incline
The more steep it is, the more severe the changes will become. Uphill/Downhill of course stack with sideway slopes.
Swing Tempo
A lot of people have a hard time with swing tempos being random and all over the place. The explanation for that is quite simple : Some shots require you to be slower with your swings compared to using a club for its maximum distance. This goes for chip, lob and pitch, and especially for the upswing. Experiment with swings on the chipping practice until you get the speed right. This also goes for partial swings for approaches : It also requires to be even slower
Putting Distance/Power
Putting in this game is not explained at all which is, a little dumb. After many tests of my own, I can conclude that your swings speed do not affect the power of your putt : Only the amount of time you take to hit the ball does - The time from when you start to pull your putter back to the start of the downswing motion. I also am sure that I saw a note on the putt marker helping you to stabilize the power of your putt (For instance if the marker is set at 75 feet away, the game will try to bring your putt power closer to how a 75 feet putt would be) but I cannot confirm this.
Here is a quick reference for putting distance depending on the amount of time you take before you downswing. These are rough estimations on a flat green with a speed of 144f. A green with less green feet speed than 144 means you will need more power, and more feet speed than 144 will need less power.
0.5 second : 10 feet
1.0 second : 25 feet
1.5 second : 60 feet
2.0 seconds : 100 feet
Conclusion
These three tips should be able to improve your game and make it more enjoyable to play. Keep in mind that the game aims to be like real golf. Getting birdies all the time isn't something that is supposed to be very easy to achieve. Making par is more realistic than aiming for birdie for every hole, and is a sign of being a good and consistent player.

If you are trying to improve your putting stick to courses with MEDIUM green speed. There are many. In settings, set the camera on the green to high or above. To hit the pall, look at your shoes and stop the backswing even with your back shoe.Go slow and steady. If you need 10 feet straight in, aim 1-2 feet past. If you miss, it will stop right there for a gimme. If it.s 10 ft but up 2, aim 3 past to be sure you get there. There is one exception to the rule about using the shoes as a guide to knowing how far it will go.When you need over 20 ft, set the marker for that distance plus up or down as needed, but you need to pull back further. Still look at the shoes, but pull back a little further over 20, and little more still over 30. Good luck. Anyone needs help or has questions let me know. If you haven't tried putting this way, go the practice green. I think your gonna be surprised.

There is a MUCH BETTER WAY to know where your puts will go AND how far.

The first thing to do is to go in settings, and set the camera for the greens to high.
After that it's a piece of cake.

#1 Set the marker for the distance you want and for any break.

#2 With the camera above and looking down like real putting should,
pull the club back just past your shoes and then hit the ball straight.

This works for all putts up to 20 feet, but hit the short ones easy.

Between 20 and 30 feet, just add a little to how far you pull back.

But, if I have 8 or 10 or 14 or 18 feet, You hit it exactly the same!
Just set the marker, look down at the ball, pull back just past his shoes.
Works every time, guaranteed.

Above 30 feet I usually chip it close first.

I tried with the marker at 0ft, and 144ft. the distance the ball rolled was the same after waiting for one second, as I expected after having played the game for +100 hours

Putting power depends on the putting marker, hence these numbers you posted are meaningless without having the putt marker at the given distance.

What's worse; since the increase in power is exponential, it's nigh impossible to get it right.

The worst bloody system ever invented for a golf game.

Also it's very VERY much in favour of console controllers; good luck stepping up from the basic clubs with a mouse!

Nice guide, very helpful for new starters. A friend and I still play this game regularly - if anyone would like to do some pairs or 1v1v1v1 we would be down for that.
