Bottom fishing tips based on RL fishing
Temperature:
Really cold (cold) water is considered 0-5 (32f-41f) degrees.

Cool water is considered 5-10 (41f-50f) degrees.

Normal (also known as "perfect", "Goldilocks" etc) is in 10-18 (50f-64.4f) degrees zone

Warm is everything above 18 (64.4f) degrees.

Considering we have "Cold", "Cool" and "Warm" categories in base and aroma section, my best guess is that "normal" and "warm" are combined in to one.
With that info you know what base, particles and aroma you need to mix in.

Feeder: Open vs closed.
Open feeder: Used for mostly slow water and wide dispersion of feed and tightly packed and somewhat hidrophobic feeds.

Closed feeder: used on fast moving waterways, used with easily dispersed feed like small grains, strong aromatic feeds (to lower the dispersion rate) or when fishing with long waiting times.

In this game feeder stated weight DOES NOT have any connection to capacity.

It is equivalent of sinker weight (thus influencing casting distance and size bait you can use to safely cast), while capacity is stated by low-medium(20grams of chum)-high.

Also, in game difference from RL about types of closed feeders, some specialized closed feeders are known as "maggot feeders", and are used for, like it is stated, throwing live maggots as feed.

Considering that you can put regular chum inside in game closed feeders, I will take a guess that in game ones are not maggot feeders.

Also, take a note of rod tip stated weight weight and try to keep your chum laden feeder within that number.
Max cast weight stated on rod is for least sensitive tip, the hardest one.

Feed:
Like we already established, feed is chosen on which fish we are targeting and what temperature of water is.
One more thing that we have to worry about is type of waterway (fast or slow, river vs lake/pond).
Amount of aroma is tied to that too.
More aroma is generally needed in faster waterway due to dispersion and volume of water that is going over the feeder.

Leader: Long vs short
Generally, shorter the leader (0-30cm, 0-11.8") , closer it is to the feeder and thus bigger the chance of bite on the hookbait.
So shorter is better? Weeeeel, not.

You need to have a longer one (that's what she said) when fishing in faster waterways.
Cloud of particles of feed is used to mask your hook as much as it is used to attract fish.

Also, when fishing for species that have good eyesight and/or are easily spooked (carp and predators in general) you need a good distance from feeder or sinker so you can trick it to actually get there and bite on it.

Live bait fishing, specially with sinker (fishing for predators) demands long leader. You want baitfish to have as much room as you can give it to swim around to entice the predator to bite.

Balancing all of these is what bottom/feeder fishing is all about.

Feel free to ask for more info in the comments, if something is not clear or there is a suggestion, I will edit it.

Hope it helps, but again, we do not have any info how it is coded in, so take it with grain of salt.
Tight lines everyone!

You do not need chum or feeder for targeting catfish or drum in Missouri.

If you gonna use feeder rod, just add weight and baitfish or small/medium/large cutbait to the deepest part.
Pick the size of hook and bait size depending on strongest setup you are gonna use, 4-5kg specimens are not uncommon when you are using bigger baits and hooks.

I need help, I am a level 7 trying to get a feeder rod setup for catfish specifically, and every time I put my rod together when I add the open feeder (1/2 ounce), it says the tackle is too heavy and the rod will break, and this has happened 3 times already. I have tried getting a better leader, reel, and cannot support better fishing line for risk of damage. How can I get this to work? PS I have a Creek Pro 8' 10"

Pretty late with my answer (for some reason, didnt get the notification), but with mixing I go with RL world logic of not going over the top with with aromas (10% or 100 grams per kg in rl can be an overkill and mess both attractiona AND texture of chum).

Base is, well, base, thus is always biggest part (and first selector of fish we are going after), and after that you tweak it with particulates.

Best advice I have is: do not mix a lot of different species in. Going with roach base with a bit of carp aroma might do good, but if you are going after carp to get a good fight, go with carp specialized chum and bait.

Do you have any advice on groundbait/feed mixing ratios? Any recipe recommendations to try?
