Introduction
This is a brief guide to all of the achievements in game SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech. Hope it can help you!

Tips
  • You can have less than 3 members in your team. Try Orik solo! Armilly solo! Copernica solo!
  • You can run pass enemies if you keep staying away from them even they notice you.
  • Some chapters have hidden rooms with treasure chests. The hidden room will not show up on map.
  • You can check enemies stats both in battle and outside battle. Some enemies are immune to certain type of attacks (e.g. dragons), so be prepared for the fight.
  • Check the vendor at each new chapter, sometimes the vendor will unlock the selling of new weapon, new accessory, and new rare materials.
  • The hard level cap is 99. BUT you will only get negligible amount of experience points from enemies with a level too low in relation to your own. So the soft level cap lands somewhere close to 50 since the level of enemy in the last few chapters is around 50. I beat the final boss with a team of level 45.

Just keep Galleo in the team and use his healing cards as well as his hero chain card.

Armilly is pretty good at physical damage. Orik can do as well.

Tarah & Thayne is pretty good at arcane damage. Orik's Raging Demon card can also do arcane damage.
Winter Is Coming

Use Copernica's frost cards. Galleo can do some frost damage too.
Help Local Business
To craft cards, you need gold and materials. To upgrade cards, you only need materials (but a lot more than craft). You can buy materials from vendor. It's not too hard to craft all cards, but it will need some farming to upgrade all cards, so plan ahead what cards you want to upgrade.

A good farming location suggested by @ppplayer is at chapter 17. From the begin area, go to the first save area. The one close to the shop. Farm the monsters before the saving room, then save to make them re-spawn and rinse and repeat. The monsters will be one of two parties, depending on which you fight the drops will differ, but you'll get all of the basic materials except for the twisted substance. And you'll get around ~450 gold during each battle.

Learn Battle Arts
Potent Potable
Use a recovery item in battle.
We Will All Go Together When We Go
Scrap three enemies with a single card.
Use Copernica's Flame Wave card at any groups of 3 or more monsters. One easy method is during the Teras Koloss boss fight. When the tree boss summons 3 twigs, use the AOE skill to one shot all of them. They are all weak to fire attacks.
All For One
Spend 10 Steam Pressure on a single card.
Use strike and upgrade cards to build up steam pressure (SP), then spend all SP on any X skill cards (e.g. Orik's Cyclone Slash, Galleo's Overcharge).
Your Green Savior
Heal a hero from less than 5% health to full with a single card.
Key card: Galleo's Overcharge + Miracle Worker. Try to lower one of your hero's health to <5%, while building up 5+ SP, then use Overcharge to heal the hero while protecting him/her with Damage Shield from Copernica. Another method is letting the enemy kill one of your team member in one fight. Then do the above method in the second fight, since 1 health will definitely <5%.
Fox Fingers
Play six cards from your hand in one turn.
You need 4 things here: Orik's Bushido card, Inspiring Grace card, any Orik's weapon with hero chain card Haste, and equip him accessory Executioner's Hood. Try to redraw cards until you got both cards in your hand and any other one Orik's card, while try to lower one enemy's health so that Orik can kill the enemy in one turn. Then perform the kill and hope RNG favours you.

Dogged By Misfortune
Inflict Burn, Bleed, Poison and Despair on the same enemy.
Use a 2 members party: Copernica + twin.
  • Copernica's Searing Lash inflicts Burn.
  • Twin's Spike Trap inflicts Bleed.
  • Twin's Envenom + any physical attack card inflicts Poison.
  • Twin's Hidden Blade inflicts Despair.
  • Twin's Epidemic spreads all the conditions on one enemy to all other enemies.

Plague On Both Your Houses
Have 12 instances of negative status conditions affecting foes at the same time.
The negative status conditions are: Burn, Bleed, Poison, Despair, Paralysis, Confusion, Blindness, Sleep, Berserk, Time Stop, Malfunction.
They don't need be on the same enemy. You can find a group of 4 enemies (e.g. the first round of the Coglin Cup), apply some of the above conditions and use the twin's Epidemic card to spread it to all enemies.

Little Ripped Riding Hood
Raise a hero's Strength bonus to +7 grades or more.
Armilly: Aspiring Hero +3 when health <25%, upgraded Bravo +2, upgraded To Victory +2.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1762876481
Feeling the Rapture Grow
Deal 20,000 or more damage with a single hit.
Preparation
Equip Armilly with Firebrand sword (from Abyss cup III final round), Power Booster, and Power Servo. Make sure she has ~670 STR.
Upgrade the following 6 cards to max stars: Armilly's Aspiring Hero, Bravado, To Victory, All In, Orik's Bushino, Galleo's Power Play.

How to Play
  • Party with Armilly, Galleo and Orik. Start fight at Coglin Cup round 1.
  • Turn 1 to N - 1: accumulate 7+SP, keep Armilly's health below 25%, leave 2~3 enemies alive. Make sure your hands are the above 6 upgraded cards.
  • Turn N: buff Armilly with Aspiring Hero +3, upgraded Bravo +2, and upgraded To Victory +2. Now Armilly should have ~1100 STR. The All In card should show around 8k+ damage. You should have 10 SP.
  • Turn N + 1: Play Galleo's Power Play, then buff Armilly with Orik's Bushino, finally play Armilly's All In.

We Didn't Start the Fire
Defeat a certain boss before it can use Hell's Tokamak.
Kill the last boss Mechathiranos in one turn after teleport to the final phase. (Need conform: use Flinch to drop the card?)
When the boss's health is around 1/3-1/4, he will teleport again, start the final phase and heal back 1k health. Then you have 1 turn to kill the boss in order to get this achievement. Which means you need to deal 14-15k damage to the head in one turn (just ignore the boss hands now). Good news is the head doesn't have any innate defenses. So prepare you hands and accumulate SP before damaging the boss down to ~1/4 health.
Become Arena Champion
There are several tournaments in Colosseum of the Cursed with different themes (both enemies and rules). You will get the achievement after beating the one listed in the achievement description. Each time you need to beat 5-10 consecutive waves of enemies without break (i.e. you're always in battle).
That's A Good Pup
Complete the Coglin Cup.
Are You Not Entertained?
Complete the Abyssal Cup.
You need to complete all the following cups in that order. This one is hard. Remember to bring enough 50%/100% health potions and revive kits since you may not have chance to heal with cards.
  1. Void Warrior Cup (5 rounds)
  2. Fireball Cup I (5 rounds)
  3. Fireball Cup II (5 rounds)
  4. Full Moon Cup I (5 rounds)
  5. Full Moon Cup II (5 rounds)
  6. Abyssal Cup I (5 rounds)
  7. Abyssal Cup II (5 rounds)
  8. Abyssal Cup III (10 rounds) The champion round is Gilgamech with 3k+ health. You need to have good damage burst. Good news is there is no other enemy and he will not revive himself like in story.
Tears of Gold
Complete the Midas Grand Prix.
Very hard. This cup has 7 rounds. The SP gains are doubled. However, you will lose each round after 7 turns. Here are the enemies in each round:
  1. Gomphus (23k health, storm immune)
  2. Captain Canary (12.9k health) 2x Sanctum Elite (Budge & Wiggs, 4.8k health)
  3. Slime King (11k health, summon Goopling) Drillqueen (11k health, summon Drillbee)
  4. Narcassian Dragon (18.5k health, physical immune) Field Mage (6.6k health)
  5. Headmistress Hyapathia (18.5k health, arcane immune) 2x Gamma Iota Rook (5k health)
  6. Teras Koloss (17.6k health, arcane immune) Archdruid Bob Lord IV (6.2k health, frost immune)
  7. Midas Duck (7777 health, all innate defenses are level 3, it hits you with GOLD!)
Recommend build: 1 healer&buffer + 2 attackers. E.g. Galleo + Armilly + Orik.
Recommend equipment: both attackers should have status immunity accessory such as Tick-Tock Watch and Pure Sash. Then try to have as much strength/magic as possible.
Recommend cards: high damage strike cards, attack X skill cards, Galleo's Fixer.
@Daxlunen also has some good tips here.

There is a bug in the achievement for all chests, in the 9 chapter about school.

I did not launch a secret portal behind the closet in room number 10 (to the left of the merchant). I asked my husband to help, and he simply began to poke all the buttons: WASD, LMB and Enter (I used only WASD and LMB to pass), and finally with the help of "Enter" I entered the secret room!!! I thought it was impossible to get this achievmant on my device because of an obvious bug in the game. But finally I could get it)

@Daemonologist's setup for "Feeling the Rapture Grow" works perfectly. I didn't even have all bonuses and still got a 23k crit.

For Equipment on Copernica: Power Servo and Power Booster work fine too if you don't have the wizard bangle and/or sorcerer bangle

For the Midas Grand Prix, I tried Armily/Galleo/Orik and Galleo/Copernica/Orik multiple times, but I couldn't get to final boss because it's too much RNG-dependant. Then I switched to Copernica/Orik only and got it first try.

Copernica (Lvl 46)
Equip: Safety Grimoire, Sorcerer Bangle, Pure Sash
Deck: Burning Desire (1*), Focus, Glass Cannon (1*), Mana Barrier (1*), Fire Pillar x2 (3*), Flame Wave (3*), Lightning Rod

Orik (Lvl 45)
Equip: Murakumo, Champion Badge, Fierce Deity's Bead
Deck: Bushido x2 (1*), Iai Cut (3*), Calming Wisdom (2*), Inspiring Grace (3*), Melancholy, Raging Demon, Winds of Madness

My general strategy was to activate Copernica's barrier first turn, ideally paralyzing a big enemy; Second turn, I tried to activate Orik's haste, ideally setting up Bushido and Melancholy on Copernica (confusing the enemies is good too); Then, it was a mix of buffing/attacking with Copernica and activating Orik's haste, occasionally healing someone.

Thanks @Daemonologist! I was able to score a critical hit around 25k with your strategy on arena! Very good. I'm yet to beat the last boss, but also will try the 'we didnt start the fire' as well. Thanks in advance!

Also, thanks for the creater of the guide, kudos

For "Feeling the Rapture Grow" I gave up on Armilly, I think my base strength is simply too low as it is only 525 after gear (+135% total, firebrand is only +80% now it seems). Instead I went with Copernica's Final Flash which has similar top-end damage %s

Gear: Frostfire, wizard bangle (the main one), sorceror bangle - +130% mag (621 total for me), storm power up 2.
Cards: Galleo's chill out (storm+2), Orik's bushido (crit+60%) and stormbringer (storm def -2), Copernica's focus (mag+), glass cannon (mag+4) and final flash

Targets: 1) fireball cup 1 final round slimes (Ektylian Glóh) or (2) fireball cup 2 round 1 Aspers

Get 2+ SP and the 6 cards in hand, buff Copernica with all 4 buffs, stormbringer then final flash the target over 2 turns.
Final flash was showing top end 9.4k outside of battle, 17k in battle with buffs, hit 36k first try vs the debuffed slimes. The negative 6 storm def is huge and more than makes up for the variance that final flash has.
Daemonologist 8 Apr, 2023 @ 7:57pm
I got the "We Didn't Start the Fire" achievement before my turn even began after the final phase shift on Legend difficulty (Galleo/Orik/T&T, lvls 44/40/40) - phase ended with it basically dead (from inspiring grace+8-hit focused rage+poison proc+doom procs) then when it phased/teleported/healed ~1.5k, the poison hit it yet again for another massive hit immediately after the heal, which easily killed it before I even got control back - had to do my turn after that but the remaining background arm died properly too after my 1st card was played and that was the end of the fight.

% based damage like poison and doom are crazy good against it and I think poison accounted for ~25% of my overall damage to the main body and doom vs actual attacks were probably roughly 50:50 for the rest of the damage to it.
nitquy94 29 Mar, 2023 @ 9:18pm
Does anyone know why my Firebrand sword only has a Strength bonus of +80%? Is there another Firebrand sword that I am missing, or do I need to upgrade my sword?
Originblitz 30 Jan, 2023 @ 5:15pm
Small edit: I also nuked final boss before his final fase, he was down to like 2k hp so 2 crits and gone.
Originblitz 30 Jan, 2023 @ 5:13pm
Interesting guide, going to try some of this. My way of dealing lots of damage was using cyclone combined with doom, and using some resist debuffs. The twins have a lot of multi-attack cards which work well with doom, specifically fools gold and controlled rage(i think its called that, its the 8 hit card). Eitherway if you can't pull off orik's cyclone you just crit buff the twins and use them with the arcane buff they have and deal some pretty big dmg on bosses. It's served me well against the final boss but had some issues with Gilgamech.
