Special Techniques that you probably don't know
By CrazyWS
This SF guide will help you understand gameplay mechanics as well as techniques that can be used to overall improve gameplay. The guide consists of mostly movement and overall mechanics. Some mechanics/techniques might not be in the game, which I'll hopefully update the guide if they aren't.

Introduction
This is where you can find whats listed in numeric order!

1. Rocket Jumping
(self explanatory)

2. Wave Dashing
(Using plants to crouch and run at the same time)

3. Gun Jumping (work on title)
(Using your primary to jump higher)

4. Tree Parkour
(Using a variety of weapons to jump from tree to tree)

5. Stair Stabbing
(Involves jumping off stairs and doing a "backstab" on unsuspecting players/bots)

Rocket Jumping
Rocket Jumping goes far back, and there is even an achievement for it! Rocket jumping is really easy, and can be down by basically everyone, so heres how to do it.

How to rocket jump:
1. Hold a Carrocket Launcher (can be found on every map)
2. Jump and look down at the ground.
3. Shot
4. You did it!

Now theres more types of jumps you can do like:
1. Turning around before you jump and looking down can give you more momentum
2. Using it in high places can give you a gigantic view of most maps (ex. the church on Graveside, or the sawmill on Riverside)
3. You probably already put two and two together, but using another rocket mid-air to dive bomb other players
4. Stringing together rockets, its very tricky to do, I haven't really experimented with this much either, but it's possible (Consider having a full clip (4) before doing this)

Now you too can scream "AHHHH" or "SCREAMIN' EAGLES"!
That basically sums up rocket jumping :)
(Inspired by TF2's rocket jumping)

Wave Dashing
Wave Dashing is very fun, but very pointless at the moment. Unfortunately I can't add a video of me doing it, but I'm happy to explain it, HMU if you want help.

How to Wave Dash:
1. You have to be holding down "Q" or whatever key you have bind'd to switching last weapon held. I haven't tried holding a grenade and then the shovel doing this, but you will have the best results doing this switching your primary with ur shovel back and forth.
2. Pick up a plant now and crouch right as you do it. If you do this correctly (and hold down the crouch button) you will crouch and be moving at the speed you were going with your shovel out. My thinking is that there is a timer between picking up plants/guns and when it's in your primary "slot". I don't know fully how it works yet, but I'll update this as I experiment. :)

( Wave Dashing was found by me)
Gun Jumping (work on title)
To "Gun Jump" you need to be holding 1 of these primaries: Shotgun, Gromato Launcher, Carrocket (lol, bit overkill), WaterLMG (lest effective).

How to Gun Jump:

1. Look downward
2. Jump and shot you primary at the same time, and you should gain a little extra hight depending on what you are using (for example the shotgun can jump over the fence on Roadside, and realllllly jump over the walls on Graveside, I know cuz I used this rain bullets on a player grabbing the carrocket on the other side, trust me, this is a lot of fun).

Useful for:
1. Jumping over stuff (duh)
2. Coming from unexpected places
3. Getaways
4. Can be used to jump to really high places (trees, buildings, etc.)
5. This isn't really a useful type, more of a statement. If you really want to get away and have the carrocket, look at "Rocket Jumping" above.
6. Making players rage quit..

Tree Parkour
*NO LONGER POSSIBLE* (Branch hitboxes/platforms have been removed)

Tree Parkour is one of thos things I enjoy the most in SF. If I'm not playing a match and just messing around with a single bot in private, I'm doing this (I like Graveside best). So!..

How to parkour, specifically on trees:
1. Use steps from "Gun Jumping" to jumping onto a building, then to a tree.
2. Jump around on sed trees
3. (Optional) Pretend you're in a Stealth movie, and make your way around, killing players from out of nowhere.

Honestly I wouldn't consider this a "technique" or "mechanic" so much as a fun thing to do.

(I think I found this, no one else does it as far as I know, idk, but for the sake of it..
found by the community)

Stair Stabbing
No joke this works. It will work all the time on bots, and some of the time on players. Theres something with bots that just forget about you as soon as you jump facing backward off some stairs while they are chasing you.

Call if a bug if you will, it's still hecka fun!

(The stairs on the image above work well)

How to Stair Stab:
1. Have a player of bot chasing you, better off make sure they have their shovel out.
2. Make it all the way up the stairs and jump without turning backward.
3. The bot/player should keep following enough so that you can land on them or behind them to have enough to time "backstab" them with your shovel. Keep in mind this doesn't always work with players, you really need to make sure you look vulnerable or make sure they don't know what you're doing.

Basically you become the spy from TF2.
(Found by me)

Outro
That sums up stuff that I could think of/ that I got from the SF discord. I will be adding and retiring stuff as it comes and goes, feel free if you find anything to come to the discord and message me and/or come talk :)

Wave dashing part was very useful, thank you for creating this guide. Also, i think that many trickstabs (not every trickstab) can be used in some form in this game.
