0. Before I Start
Yes, it's me again :D, from the "Something You May Not Know" series in A17 and A19.

Atelier Lulua is A20, and it's the 4th game of Atelier Arland Series. If you want to learn the whole story, then you can play the other 3 games first - Atelier Rorona, Meruru, Totori. You can find DX version of them in steam.

Or you can just ignore them. Let's start the game, and this guide !

All the data is from many tests with my friends, and the Official Guide Book. There are some mistakes in the book or in the game, I will note them and correct them.

1. About Endings and NG+
When you finish the main story, you can choose one ending you like to go. Finish the sub event chain and get the flag, then the ending choice will appear.

There are 9 endings in total:
1. Normal ending - finish main story
2~7. Every character's ending - finish character's events, while two certain characters share one ending
8. Curry ending - Lulua ending, finish Lulua's character event, need super high quality curry (some over 500, some over 750)
9. True ending - meet all above endings

80 Friendship can trigger all the final event of the character (You can choose his or her ending). If not, it may be stuck by other events.

About the curry ending.
synthesize Guardian Curry -> sleep 10 days -> event, get recipe
-> synthesize Dunkel Curry -> sleep 10 days -> event, get recipe
-> synthesize Philosopher's Curry
-> key point, you need over 500 quality of Lululu Curry and over 500 quality of above 3 curries in your inventory to trigger the event
-> give Eva over 750 quality Lululu Curry, get recipe
-> synthesize over 750 quality Ultimate Lululu Curry and give it to Eva
-> got the flag and can choose the curry ending
So it's better to synthesize all of them 999 quality.

About cleared data:
After any ending, system tells you that you can save cleared data. Here you have to save at least once to unlock some contents like new difficulties (or they are still locked).
When you load the cleared data, you choose to start NG+ or continue the game with some end game contents.
NOTE: When you choose to continue the cleared data, you CANNOT trigger ANY endings in this data. So you'd better save the cleared data in a new slot, and save a data before any endings as a backup.
2. About Difficulties
Thanks for @Fuzen's hint. I really forget to write something about difficulties.

Save any cleared data to unlock Very Hard and Charisma.

Harder difficulties only add BASIC drop rate, NOT rare drop rate.

In Very Hard and Charisma, item damage will be cut to half on second use of the same item, and one third on the third use ...... It has a limit. Using interrupt item won't add the denominator, but affected by current damage decrease of the same item.
So it's better not to throw any items the same as your interrupt items.
3. About Money and Rare Drop
To duplicate materials, money is important. Before you clear the game, reporting the quests and getting the reward is the best way to earn money. While you've saved any cleared data and continue the game, you can get much more money by booming the rabbits in Rolling Hill. Set the trait Mortal Blow on Rocket Ice Bomb, change the difficulty into Charisma, then just boom boom boom.

And you need more Dragon's Eye, but hard to get it, right? First time you meet the dragon could be in Quelei Forest. It does drop Dragon's Eye, but is a rare drop. You find it's still hard to get. Why?

Basicly, rare drop rate is 0%. You can increase the rate by:
  • Overkilling the monster, add to the rate [(Last Hit Damage - Monster Current HP) / (10% x Monster Max HP) x 5] (%)
  • Last hit hits the weakness, add to the rate 25 (%)
  • Monster doesn't move or moves once, add to the rate 30 (%)
  • Monster moves twice, add to the rate 15 (%)
So you can change the difficulty to Easy for a better chance of rare drop (more overkill damage percentage)
4. About Some Special Materials
4-1. Dunkelheit
An Event will tell you that Dunkelheit can be gathered next month in every October. When in November, go to the deepest end of Eternal Spring: In front of the Spring AT NIGHT, then gather the lotus-like gathering point, you can get Dunkelheit.
Or gather it in the deep area of Orthogalaxen.

4-2. Juicy Peach
Hear a rumor from Wild in Sunrise Cafe in Arland, then go to Eternal Spring: In front of the Spring, use Sack of the Wind God to blow the gathering tree, then you can get Juicy Peach. Then you can buy this from Wild.

4-3. Magmadurian
Hear a rumor from Wild in Sunrise Cafe in Arland, then go to Mt. Velus: Deep Depths, in the end way beside the magma there is a fruit-like gathering point, gather it then you can get Magmadurian. Then you can buy this from Wild.

4-4. THAT Egg
Hear a rumor from Wild in Sunrise Cafe in Arland, then go to Stalhang Castle: Spire, through the gate in the North, you can find some birdnest-like gathering points, gather it then you can get THAT Egg. Then you can buy this from Wild.

4-5. Sour Apple King
Hear a rumor from Wild in Sunrise Cafe in Arland, then go to Neumont Forest,beside the large crystal you can find some fruit-like gathering points, gather it then you can get Sour Apple King. Then you can buy this from Wild.

4-6. Creation Tree's Twig
Go to Slumbering Holy Tree Forest, there is a unique gathering tree, use Sack of the Wind God to blow it, then you can get Creation Tree's Twig.
5. About Quality
I think this is the first time that the game forces you to synthesize things in 999 quality, in the hidden chapter. It seems that quality is important.

For equipment, quality doesn't affect its basic stats or effects. But for characters, there is a special stat called "Quality", which means the average quality of all equipment. 999 average quality equals 150 the "Quality" stat, and 1 "Quality" stat equals 1 all stats.

For exploration tools, quality affects nothing, just like before.

For bomb and healing items, quality affects their power a lot. The formula is complex, but what I can tell you is that 999 quality for them is necessary.

For buff and debuff items, quality affects nothing. Stat buffs and debuffs are all in percentage, not a certain number like before.
6. About Interrupt System
You can unlock the interrupt system as you progress the main story. Only Lulua, Piana, Rorona can use the system. Equip the usable item for them, wait the icon lit in the battle, and then interrupt any current action to use the item. It cost the item uses only in battle, get recovered after battle, and cost 2 times more time to light the icon when the uses is 0.

The "cool down" time of the interrupt items are associated with their basic WT. It can be reduced by the effects or the traits only on the items their own, not affected by other equipment of the character.

As you solve the chapters of Alchemy Riddle Book, you can get interrupt skills for the three characters. When in battle, you can check them in the right side, above the interrupt icons.

Any "One Time End" series traits will consume all the item uses in one use of interruption in battle.
7. Some End Game Traits
In A20, you can only get top class of end game traits by trait combination with factors :

8. About Resonance
It's the same system like A19, so I copied most of the content from my guide in A19.

There are 4 types of Resonance:
Blade for ATK
Shield for DEF
Art for SPD
ALL for ATK + DEF + SPD

Each type has its own standalone pool. On 3 attackers of FRONT ROW, All the Resonance traits will add the stats to the pool of their OWN TYPE. And for all the 5 battle members, they can get the stats from the pool if they have at least one Resonance of the POOL TYPE.

For example, my front row members have 5*3=15 Resonance ALL: Universe in total, so the pool of type ALL has 150 stat in total. Of course 3 attackers in front row can get the pool of 150 stat. Sterk is in my back row. He has only one Resonance ALL: Universe, but he can get the whole pool of 150 stat. For others, it’s inefficient because they get 150 stat from 5 slots. For Sterk, it’s so terrific because only one trait provides him 150 stat.

If you change the position of one pair, the pool will re-calculate based on the new front row.
9. How to Craft an End Game Item
To defeat powerful boss in end game, you need the best item you can get, bombs, buff items, or equipment. But the synthesis system in this game is so complex and strict. To craft one target item is really a hard work. I will take Omega Craft as an example to introduce how to craft an end game item.

Let's check the example:
-
  • Synthesizing an Omega Craft needs 1 Craft, 2 Gunpowder, 1 Fuel, 2 Plants, Plants can apply awakened effect.
  • There are some "Count Boost" traits. If the item has more uses, these traits are more powerful.
  • Zettel has an effect "Uses +3" which can increase product's uses by 3, so using more Zettel to synthesize the Omega Craft is better.
  • I need Zettel in Gunpowder type, crafting it needs Supplements -> Tar Liquid can awake Gunpowder type, crafting it needs Supplements -> Rainbow Supplement can awake Supplements type, itself belongs to Supplements type -> everything is connected, I can get Zettel in Gunpowerder type. Then I can synthesize the other two kinds of Zettel with Fuel type and Plants Type in the similar way.
  • The alchemic value is not enough to get the effects I need on Omega Craft, so I need to adjust the aclchemic value of my materials. In this case, I need more red and yellow value.
  • My Zettel remains an awaken slot with Water type, the usable item Witch Slave has the awakened effect which is red & yellow value +3, so I somehow craft a Witch Slave with Water type by Living Fossil, then my Zettel's alchemic value is like it in the picture.
  • I distribute 3 target traits into different materials, so I can get a 999 quality product with enough TP to set my traits.

As our tests, we found that among the awakened effects of additional elemental damage, lv 5 is only a little bit better than lv 1, and 3 uses count can increase more damage with those "Count Boost" traits. It's very lucky that Zettel has the awakened effected of Ice DMG Lv 1 when craft bombs.

10. Defeat Machina of God at LV200 in Charisma
I choose interrupt NA Omega by Rorona to finish the boss, simple, fast, and powerful.

10-1. The video

10-2. About the boss
In Charisma, she has over 380k HP when she is LV200. She is very fast, even my member with over 880 SPD has a small chance to move slower than her, an then my whole party is smashed. When your SPD is over 650, chance of moving faster than her is much high. Piana in my party has 896 SPD at the beginning of the battle.

10-3. Party formation
Lulua has two jobs: Active the Primal Arts with Piana and Rorona - item power +30%; Add the Resonance pool.
Piana has three jobs: Speeder; Interrupt item of special Healing Bell for +25% critical damage buff; Trigger Eva's assist skills.
Rorona is the main bomb attacker. She has an interrupt skill that if use interrupt item soon after another interrupt item, item damage +70%.
Eva only needs to stun the boss.

10-4. Some special materials for awaken effects

You need to add extra material type for them with their awakened effects slots, just like what I've said in the chapter "How to Craft an End Game Item"

10-5. Build my Party
Lulua
It's better to set all her traits with Resonance.

Piana
Build her with SPD.

Rorona
Build her with item power enhancement, damage enhancement on stunned target and higher level target, critical damage enhancement.

Eva
One basic weapon is enough.

10-6. Interrupt items
Healing Bell for +25% critical damage enhancement

10-7. How to do
If any party member move faster than Piana, do any action to skip.
Piana throw any bomb with magical and physical damage at the same time, then trigger Eva's assist skill to stun the boss.
Use interrupt item for criitical damage enhancement, and don't stop, use Rorona's interrupt NA immediately to finish the battle.
11. About the DLC map Machina Domain
Updated at Steam Game Version 1.0.0.3, 2019-08-01

Really a hard map, just like its description says.

11.1. Fight against Machina of God
You have to fight against Machina of God when you enter this map the first time. It's much harder than her in main story, but weaker than her of lv200 in the deepest Orthogalaxen. Beat her, then you can explore the DLC map.

11.2. Monsters
All the monsters here are all the enhanced elite ones of normal map, and they move very fast to chase you. Traveler Shoes with max main effect of Movement Speed Up L is necessary.

11.3. Materials
Monsters' dropped items are over 250 quality, gathering materials with Tonic can easily reach 300 quality, destroy the crystal with Super Mining Bomb can easily get over 400 quality materials.

11.5. DLC Boss Fight and New Recipe
In the deepest, you can fight against the DLC boss, an enhanced Wind Stone (the bird like boss) called Schwarz Vogel. It is a bit stronger than Machina of God of lv200. It has over 60k hp in EASY. Beat it and go far, you can get the recipe with 4 new synthesized items.

11.6. 4 New Synthesized Items and One Cheating Awakened Effect
Engel Stone and Engel Cloth:
Just new ingot and cloth. Their Awakened Effect can add 10 more ATK or DEF when craft weapons or armors.

Anti-Material
Awakened Effect of Material burst on bomb item for +100% item power. Item damage enhancement is high enough by use-count-boost traits and equipments, so this Awakened Effect may not be better than those additional elemental damage effects.
Awakened Effect of Sanctuary on recovery item for acquiring AP by number of targets x 3, which can give you a faster Ultimate Attack.

Grand Material:
Awakened Effect of Alchemy Mastery on bomb and recovery items, cheating effect NO. 1. Ignore its description. The true effect is full charge interrupt items when battle starts, and cut the interrupt WT to half, and two of this effect can cut to 0. Let's check these two items:

N/A Gamma for stunning foes, and Dream Vision for pulling up party members.
12. Defeat DLC Boss Schwarz Vogel in Charisma
12.1. The Video

12.2. About the boss
It has similar HP and SPD as Machina of God of LV200, so stack speeder's SPD over 800 is safe.

12.3. The formation
Meruru is speeder. Her speed in my party can reach over 900 at the beginning of the battle.
Totori is buff assistant. Her weapon can enhance buff by 50%, just like Piana's.
Rorona and Piana's job is using interrupt items.
Primal Arts with Rorona x Totori x Meruru can nullify all enemy elemental resistance.
Primal Arts with Totori x Rorona can increase all elemental damage by 30%.

12.4. Some special materials for awaken effects

12.5. Build my party
Meruru
Speeder build. You can even exchange some with Resonance traits for more ATK for Sterk.

Rorona
Resonance build.

Totori
Resonance build, same as Rorona

Sterk
Assist skill attaker build. His Weapon Valkyurie's Oath has a bug. Its main effect War Gods Awakening, "S" rank is much more powerful than "L" rank. But it only effect on Active Skills. So in this build we get it to "L" rank.
I set some awakened effect of ACC Up Lv3 because I can't set any Skill up effects. I choose which material I can craft the equipment easily.

Piana
Piana doesn't need any build. One basic weapon is enough. (Although I build her with the same equipment as Sterk's)

12.6. Interrup items
Just like what I said in Chapter 11.

12.7. Usable items
Healing Bell for critical power up and LV up

12.8. How to do
When needs, use interrupt item Dream Vision to pull up party members.

No matter who moves first, pull up Totori to move.
Totori uses two buff items on Sterk. (And on Piana if you like)
Meruru moves, or pull her up to move, use skill Princess' Edict on Sterk.
Pull up Totori to move. You can pull up Rorona first to prevent if you forget to use interrupt items.
Totori uses Lightning Bomb, set debuff, and trigger Sterk's assist skills.
Pull up Totori and use Lightning Bomb again and again, until you smash the boss.

Or if you want to see Sterk's final assist skill like me, keep using Lightning Bomb untill you successfuly set two debuffs (DEF and All Stats) and its HP between 200k~250k.
Use Rorona's interrupt item of N/A Gamma again and again until the boss is nearly stunned.
Pull up Totori, use N/A Omega to stun the boss, trigger Sterk's assist skills.
13. In the End
I will update this guide when the game updates to a new version (if I think it's necessary).

Oh wow, so that's what I was not doing correctly, I needed to synth the dlc items to the items. I thought it needs to be synth directly to it to get the +10 atk from the dlc mats.

Thank you so much! Now I can sleep peacefully. lol. Sorry you had to go to trouble of redownloading it. I was following your guides since Sophie 1, you the best!

I download back the game and try to re-craft this Nightshade:

1)Nylonfeather - all+2, awakened_atk+10 - 12atk
2)Engel Cloth - all+7, 2*awakened_atk+10 - 27atk
3)2*Living Rope - each 2*awakened_atk+10 - 40atk
4-1)Engel Stone - atk&def+15, awakened_atk+10, awakened_poison - 25atk
4-2)Archfiend Claw - for awaken effect of Skill up lv3

12+27+40+25=104, so it gets to the limit of 100 when craft armor.

Trait: Dragon God's Wrath - all+10 - this adds extra 10atk.

Sorry, I know its been a while. It just does not add up. It requires Nylonfeather(1), Armor Mat(1), Threads(2), Poison(2)

You have ACC Lvl3 and Skill up Lvl3, so that only leaves 2 slots for the dlc ingots. Its impossible to make the dlc ingot a Thread because it requires a Gomphrena to make it a thread and that's a plant. There's no other synth item that Awakens Thread, and you can't use gomphrena for the dlc ingot.

So that only leaves 1 slot for dlc ingot. And its just +15 atk on creation, +10 if you use the awakened effect, but you used the Skill up L3 coming from a different item.

Even if somehow you were able to use dlc ingots, it still won't reach 110 atk.

Nylonfeather + 2atk
Dlc cloth + 7 atk
2dlc ingot(thread) 40atk
2dlc ingot(poison) 40atk

I'm guessing they patched the game or was nerfed somewhere or probably a glitch or probably something went wrong when you edited it before.

I spent days trying to figure this out. 🥹

Sorry, I've almost forgot everything about this game. If my memory works, it should be using the dlc ingot or clothes as the materials, with those effects or awaken effects of "increase stats when craft equipment". Try to craft the dlc ingot and clothes with awaken effect of "add another type", so you can put more ingots and clothes into your cauldron, to stack more stats.

It's a special free DLC in the first week (or first month?) when this game released. And I remembered this DLC will be installed for all players later (free or not free?).
However, without these DLC symbols, you can still choose any symbols which can set two awakened effects of Skill up / Item up / SPD up lv5.
