I don't think it matters which house you choose to do it on; the gardens seem to be more or less the same anyway.

Mow the lawn (sorry) - don't worry about selling existing plants or cutting down trees, unless you feel like it.

Plants

We're going for a crop garden, and to make it super easy, we're only buying plants that don't need interaction. With regards to layout, I believe the only thing that really matters is making sure you have plants in the back and both sides.

Blueberry x 10
Cucumis x 5
Pumpkin x 4
Raspberry Shrubs (that's the more full-looking one, not the singles) x 10
Strawberries x 10
Zucchini x 5
Carrot x 20
Parsley x 20

Equipment

Add the following equipment (all from the Other section of the catalogue):

Sprinkler x 15 (I put them in between the crops... as if I was creating a real garden I guess)
Tool House (I also like to put a shovel in there. I don't think this makes any difference. Watch out when you're placing this - too near a wall or the garden perimeter and you won't be able to interact with certain parts when you're assembling it)
Wooden Composter x 2
Plastic Composter x 2
Scarecrow x 5 (again, I like to put these where they would actually be useful!)

And that's everything - that should be your triple 5 star rating, and 50% additional profit on the house sale.

I always delete all the crops and equipment after I get the 5 stars, and then make the garden pretty the way I want! Still get the 50% bonus and get most of my money back too, sneaky genius!

I have found crop to be the easiest and perhaps cheapest garden to excel at. I only use one scarecrow and maybe 6 sprinklers and two composters (bc one is just not enough in reality). I always put a shovel in the shed too! But I do use all the types of plants.

I never knew that layout depended on doing something in all areas of the plot! I thought it was how neatly your hardscaping turns out. Huge tip, thanks!

Quick tip kitsune!!: If you want it to be daytime just go back to main menu and reenter the game.
