When I was testing everything for the guide as far as I could find the game wouldn't allow players to assign colors not normally available to that dino to any color region as it would default to their basic colors instead.
But the server we tested it on was hosted using Ping Perfect and so I am unsure if using other server hosting services or private hosted servers might change those results, as, I know some servers have bots and websites interacting with databases on non ping-perfect servers.
I would fiddle around to see if I could help figure it out but the only server I have access to database on currently is running on EVRIMA not legacy.
As for Giga 5 (and Carno 5) it was to prevent people from having solid black dinos, albinos cant be solid white either, albino players (like myself) have to use a tan marking on body 3 and the crest (if male) to make it look "albino". Though I wouldn't consider albino flashy and they have always been in the game except when we had 0 skin options besides default male/female so idk why they would need removed.
I do wish we could use some of the species only colors more freely that we don't have access to rn though because that would help it feel more varied.
