TLDR;
Burning corpses can spread their flame to slower enemies. Burn a enemy. Wait for it to finally die. Path find zombies trapped behind the burning corpse. They are now burning too. Get more hairspray from their dead bodies. Profit.
Step by step guide
First thing you will need is to create a mini-flamethrower. So keep looting and if you can kill until you have the following:

1x Hairspray
1x Metal pipe
1x Scrap
1x Sticky tape
1x Nails
1x Zippy lighter

With this we can handle most threats at the start of the game. As all the basic enemy types can be killed with one spray with this gun. But that isn't enough and eventually you will run out of ammo if you are only killing one enemy at a time.

But what you might not know is that one spray of this gun can kill a whole horde of zombies.

Step 2
With this we are ready to unleash some burning hell on the enemies. The next step is finding a large enough group of enemies. Don't panic if a hunter or something faster joins in. If there is only one of them you can use them as the ignition point to light up the whole swarm. Just light them up and kite the group around until your first victim decide to fall over.

Step 3
Once the first enemy is dead kite the group into getting stuck behind the burning body, the corpse will still have collision turned on so they can get stuck. Once they are next to the burning body for 2-3 seconds they too will burst into flame. Then it is just a case of repeating the process while you keep kiting the horde. The best part of all of this is the fact you usually get 1-2 extra bottles of perfume to reload your mini-flame thrower with. Which can be used to deal with even more threats.
Survivor tips.
As much as you don't like Darts it is best to horde them as much as you can. Because they count as ammo they don't take way from your inventory limit at the start of a mission. And they are a good way to kill slow single zombies. Even if it takes 6-7 to kill them. Later you can buy a crossbow that can use them to one shot enemies.

Pistols need 2 shots to kill a hunter. So the zipgun might not be worth it. Just save the ammo until you get a proper gun.

There is a suitcase in every mission. GET IT. It will increase your permanent inventory cap at the start of the mission. The inventory cap only affects the items you can carry over from one map to the next. Your actual in mission inventory is unlimited.

Keep as many throwing knives as you can. They are what darts wish they could be. Sadly they do count towards you item cap. You can kill a hunter with just 2 hits and they can also be used to uncover hidden walls.

You can lure enemies into traps by throwing food. The food can also be used to distract enemies from trying to eat you too if they spot you.

Poison knocks enemies out. Fire kills enemies (and you if you don't have a spare bottle of water handy). Berserk makes enemies fight each other.

The end of the mission stash doesn't carry over to other missions unless you carry them yourself. So if you think you are being clever by building a silencer for a gun you are getting later and then storing it in the stash then it will still be there. Too bad you will be long gone.

If you think the end of the mission is about to happen then feel free to craft all your items to reduce the number of slots you need. Ammo is always good to have. But don't feel you should just bring the spare parts with you and craft as you need at the time.

1x Explosive brew, 2x Scrap, 1x Metal pipe will create 5 shotgun shells or 10 pistol bullets. So try and make as many as you can. You only need 1x Ultra brew, 1x Petrol, 2x Nails to get the explosive brew.
