At first glance, many would assume that Mr. N is the worst character in Divekick. He's fat, unassuming, doesn't dive at an angle like most other characters. I mean his freakin ground special is him running away. And his air special is to float. The only upside to begin playing Mr. N is his hilarious dialogue.

I don't claim to be an expert at Divekick, yet I've played close to 500 matches as Mr. N. There's something satisfying about winning with a character people think is inferior. I've suffered numerous losses playing as Mr. N in the process of mastering him and while I can't say I've mastered him yet I've been able to adjust my playstyle based on opponents' characters. From fast characters like Dive and Kick to slow ones like Stream and Dr. Shoals. From the cheap as ♥♥♥♥ Baz and S-Kill to the always hard Markman(if played right) and Kenny. Again, if played right Mr. N is a pain in the ass for any match up.

Pros to playing as Mr. N:

Mr. N is surprisingly fast for a fat guy wearing what looks like pajamas.

Nobody expects you to win. Suppose this could also be a con.

His air float is very useful to stay in the air longer and then dive in for the kill.

Playing as Mr. N can really brighten up your day. I don't know I really ran out of pros.

Cons:

Putting this as nice as I can, Mr. N is a larger man. And as with Jefailey and his giant head, Mr. N's larger base makes for an easy target. That and his pink duds.

Doesn't really do much. Runs away, floats, gets slightly faster, never gets the girl even when he wins, and eats himself into a deep state of depression.

Is unable to dive. I suppose he just falls and lands on people and that's how he wins.

Basic tips:

Against slow characters get in the air as often and as long as possible. Against fast characters avoid staying in the air as much as possible. Against the Baz just sit there and accept defeat.

As I said earlier, Mr. N is fast. Not the fastest in the game but he's right up there. Get closer by doing short jumps and dive quickly. You aren't sneaking up on anybody by jumping in the air.

Use the air special as much as possible to either avoid being kicked or to fake someone out and then kick their head off.

Run away to get your opponent to laugh and lose his or her concentration. Try not to laugh yourself. It's hard.

Always bring your neckpad, seriously. Unlike any other character in the game, if Mr. N takes a headshot, his neckpad goes flying off but you don't suffer the stun penalty. After the first headshot though you're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck. Mr. N has to buy a new neckpad after every match. Gets expensive.
