Introduction
So, you've just walked in into TF2 Competitive and don't have a single clue what to do? Well, this guide is for you!
Format
First off, let me introduce you to the formats played in competitive:

1. 6s- A 6v6 battle usually formed with 1 Medic, 1 Demoman, 2 Soldiers, and 2 Scouts. Maps usually played on are 5CP, Koth, and A/D.
2. Highlander- A 9v9 battle between 1 of each class. Maps usually played are PL, 5CP, KOTH, and A/D.
3. 4s- A 4v4 battle formed with 1 of each classes mentioned in 6s. Playing as Heavy while there is a Medic in your team in this meta is NOT allowed. Maps usually played are KOTH and 5CP.
4. Prolander- A 7v7 version of Highlander where 2 classes get banned.

The formats mentioned above are ranked from most popular to least popular.
Terms
Before knowing the classes and their roles, you must know the terms used when playing TF2 Competitively to get an understanding of what they are saying:

Pick: A kill on a key player like a Demoman or a Medic.
Drop: A Medic dropping an ubercharge; A Medic dying with full ubercharge ready.
Comms: It refers to the teams' overall communication and what software for coomunication will they use (Examples are Discord and Mumble, you can read about them below).
Mid: The middle capture point of a map.
Rollout: The initial rush to mid at the start of the rounds
Airshot: Hitting an enemy in mid air with a projectile like a Soldier's Rocket, a Demoman's Grenade, or a Medic's Crossbow.
Juggle: Controlling an enemy's movement with your damage by making them jump in the air by aiming at their feet.
Lit/Destroyed: A term used when an opponents have very low health.
Back cap: Going around the enemy team to capture their point when they're pushing forward.
Advantage: Usually refers to the an advantage your team has, it can either be player advantage (Your team has more players alive than the enemy team) or uber advantage (You have a significantly higher percentage of Uber than the opponent)
Disadvantage: Refers to disadvantages of your team compared to the enemy team, making your team more vulnerable. Note: Knowing advantages/disadvantages of your team is very vital in Competitive.
Force: Forcing a medic to use the ubercharge by surprising them with a specific class.
Offclass: Playing a class other than the standard 4.
Crater: Dying from fall damage.
PUG: Pick-Up Game. A Competitive game with teams made up on the spot by two captains.
Sub/backup: A player on the team who's not part of the starting players.
Merc: A player who isn't on the team but is brought in to temporarily fill an empty spot.

Classes
So, now you know the kinds of playstyle. The norm here is usually 6s so I'm going to focus more on that. Let me introduce you to the classes in 6s:

Medic- The healer of the group, of course. His job is to keep his teammates healthy, to call out information, and to know the team's advantages and disadvantages. You may be FOCUSED by the enemy team so be careful. The weapons usually used are Crusader's Crossbow, Stock Medi-Gun/Kritzkrieg, and Ubersaw.

Demoman- The main damage dealer of this class. He is usually the 2'nd priority for the enemy team to kill. Their main job is to DEAL DAMAGE and NOT to kill people, but, if you get people killed in the process, sure why not? Weapons usually used are Iron Bomber/Stock Grenade Launcher, Stickybomb Launcher/Quickie Bomb Launcher, and any melee weapon of your choice as long as it isn't banned.

Roaming Soldier- This is the soldier that plays away from the medic. He doesn't get much heals so maintain your health. He will always play in the flank routes either protecting it, or trying to get inside and flank the enemy medic. Main job is as said, protect the flank, try to flank, and make plays by killing people when you can. Usual weapons are Stock Rocket Launcher/Original, Gunboats, and Escape Plan/Market Gardener/Equalizer.

Pocket Soldier- The soldier that should STAY with the medic in the main route. You act as the tank for the team and usually the receiver of Ubercharge when pushing in. Usual weapons are Stock Rocket Launcher/Original, Gunboats/Shotgun, and Escape Plan.

Pocket Scout- The scout that stays with the Medic, Demoman, and Pocket. His job is to protect the Medic and Demoman from close range problems, A.K.A. scouts because Medics will have a hard time fending for themselves and Demomans are weak in close range combat. Weapons usually used are Stock Scattergun, Stock Pistol/Winger, and The Boston Basher or any melee of your choice.

Aggressive scout- The scout that finishes off low players. This scout plays with the roamer in the flanks. Yes, you're the main killer of your team, but don't try overextending and dying a lot.
Usual weapons used are the same as the Pocket Scout.

Yay! The classes are out of the topic and know you're asking where I can play? Fear no more, here are places where you can start out learning and playing the 6s meta!
Offclassing
Random person: But mister, where are my other favorite classes like Spy and Sniper ?

Well, sad to say, but the Pyro, Heavy, Engineer, Sniper, and Spy will rarely be played. Playing these classes depends on very very very specific situations:

1. Pyro- A Pyro will usually be played on the last point of defense only when a team is at an uber disadvantage. Once the team uses uber and pushes in, the Pyro's job is to airblast and to try and waste as much time of the uber without dying.

2. Heavy- A Heavy is used for last point defense and a faster defensive class much more than the Engineer since he doesn't need setup time unlike the Engineer's Sentry. Due to Heavy's huge amount of health, he can tank damage for the rest of the class. Basically, he is a non-aimbot sentry played by a person online. The Heavy is also more mobile because it can move around without needing a setup time.

3. Engineer- An Engineer is also used for last point defenses. He can setup sentries to make the push harder for his opponents. Unlike the Heavy, the Engineer's sentry is 100% accurate with it's bullets but this is traded off because the sentry has a specific distance it can shoot unlike the Heavy.

4. Sniper- The Sniper's main job in competitive mainly is to try and drop the enemy Medic's Ubercharge by killing them from a far distance. Since Sniper isn't used much in competitive, you can use him as a surprise but ONLY when your team is at an uber disadvantage. Otherwise, Sniper's have no use since they can go Scout or Soldier and do more to help the team.

5. Spy- The Spy and Sniper have the same job, to attempt to drop the enemy Medic's uber but this time by backstabbing them. The Spy can also be used for attempting backcaps. (Example: At the last point in 5CP maps, the enemy team is pushing and the enemy roamer stays at last to guard it. You can catch him by surprise by backstabbing him or you can try to 1v1 him and cap last to win your teammates the round.
Communication Software
NOPE.avi son! You have to learn about software needed for communication with teammates, because team communication is important.

Random Person: But WHY? WHY NOT USE THE VOICE CHAT INTEGRATED INTO TF2 MISTER?

Because that voice chat is very slow to work unlike Discord or Mumble.

So, these are the 2 mostly used softwares in the TF2 Asia Competitive community:
1. Discord:
-This is a communication software used by Pure and ChillyPunch Servers. It is easy to use, and has a modern design to it. Download it here.[discordapp.com]

2. Mumble:
-My favorite communication software, since it is used by Shana servers. This one has a simple, and very plain design that might make it look hard to use or very confusing, but trust me, it is easy to use once you get a hold of it. It is faster to respond and sends voice in a clearer way. Download Mumble here.[www.mumble.com]
Ways to improve
1. MGE
-This is a 1v1 server where you fight other players. The first to 20 kills will win. This will improve a lot in your game. Your dm ability (ability to deal damage) and more. Winning isn't as important as gaining a sense of how to fight other enemies, know that.

Nietono No Shana MGE server: 116.251.220.66:27015
UGC.TF MGE Server: 45.125.192.77:27015

Pure MGE 1v1 Server: 139.99.78.70:27015
Pure MGE 2v2 Server: 139.99.73.15:27015

2. Ultiduo
-This is training for Pocket Soldiers and Medics. It is a 2v2 where you fight KOTH style. Soldiers here can only use Original/Stock Rocket Launcher, Shotgun, and any melee of choosing.
Pure Ultiduo server: 139.99.79.188:27015

3. PUGs
-Pick up games, also known as PUGs for short, is a place where 8/12/14/18 people join in to play a competitively, where number of players depend on which playstyle is going to be played. Usually lasts up to 30 minutes and comms are needed.

@ 0>0 this is centered mainly for my fellow Filipino players. It also helps other people in some way, but as far as I know Competitive TF2 in Asia doesn't use stuff like that.

You should mention websites like tf2center,pugchamp,etc in the ways to improve section, they are kinda good in getting new players in the comp scene and giving them a hold of whats going on.
