zs_The_Thing_1982

This is a modified version of my zpo_the_thing_1982 map (for Zombie panic! Source) designed for the zombie survival game mode in Garry's Mod. The map is based on John Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982). Most of the level was designed using the film as a reference. The level features rooms shown in the film as well as additional parts of the outpost that were not shown in the film such as a corrugated metal building and an upstairs section. Some parts of the map have been modified to better suit gameplay in zombie survival.

Notable additions/changes from the Zombie Panic! Source version:
-Some windows have been widened to allow players to climb through them.
-The roof is accessible in this version and clipping has been pushed farther out for most areas to allow movement in the snowy hills surrounding the main playable area.
-Most of the props have been changed from static to physics for barricading purposes.
-Simple nav mesh and nodes.

Version 03 Update Notes:
-Replaced the old version with a port of an updated version from Zombie Panic! Source that contains many optimization improvements, architectural corrections, and countless minor changes.
-Moved Sigil nodes.
-Widened more windows to allow smaller zombies/headcrabs into certain areas.
-Packed in a few models and their associated materials from Zombie Panic! Source (arcade machines, comm towers, pool table, and warehouse shelves) into the map.
