Description:

A complete soundtrack overhaul for KOTOR II that adds a dynamic edit of the Original Trilogy score by John Williams, replacing all tracks, from exploration, to combat, delivering a more authentic Star Wars experience to the game.


Known Bugs:

- The dark side points gained track does not cue as it should (tested via STEAM version of KOTOR II), this is an issue with the game itself, and not the mod.


Installation for Legacy (or if you have issues getting the workshop version to work):

Go to your "Knights of the Old Republic II" game folder, then MAKE A BACKUP OF THE "StreamMusic" folder, either rename it to "StreamMusicOLD" or move it to another location (don't copy it, but cut it to another location). Once that is done copy over the "StreamMusic" folder from this location in your steam installation location "steamapps\workshop\content\208580\1682417351" to your "Knights of the Old Republic II" game folder, run the game and you should be good to go.


*NOTE* for "TSL Restored Content Mod": If you are using the STEAM workshop version of the restored content mod, go to the folder location "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\208580\485537937\streammusic" and replace the tracks there with the two tracks found in this mod's "Restored Content Mod Steam Workshop Patch" folder. If you are using another version of the game (Legacy, GoG etc), simply install the "TSL Restored Content Mod" first before this mod.

Hey, maybe you can help me with my issue, since you changed part of the soundtrack yourself. So I want to change out the game music for other select Star Wars music. I want Dual of Fates to be the main menu music. I was told to use audacity to convert into a WAV file, turn to mono, bring the HZ down by half and get it to 16 Bit. However, when I do this, it slows down. So basically the question is, what are you doing to change the soundtrack? You can comment here or send a DM if steam has DMs

This mod REFUSES to work for me and I can only assume it is because KotoR 2 has become sentient and DOSE NOT want it's music changed. I have searched the workshop directory, the directory of the game, AND JUST MY COMPUTER IN GENERAL for the original music the game has and have deleted every trace of those files from my computer AND YET IT STILL SOMEHOW PLAYS THEM! Mod author I am sure this mod would be lovely to use and yet the game has seen fit to tell me NO, but in theory I do love the idea of this mod.

@Lexiconical, no the game plays mp3's just fine as it comes with its own mp3 codec.

So if you are going the manual route, here is a step by step:

1. Backup you game's original StreamMusic folder located here; "Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II".
2. Remove the game's original SteamMusic folder.
3. Copy over this mod located here; "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\208580\1682417351" to you game directory located here; "Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II"
4. Copy the tracks within the "Restored Content Mod Steam Workshop Patch" folder over to your main SteamMusic folder."

I think some of my other mods were interfering with this. I followed your manual install method, and it works now, cheers @He Who Laughs

I am having problems with the darkside and lightside point gain tracks now since trying to fix the darkside cue. I have done extensive reading everywhere trying to find a solution, in addition to trying everything I could think of first before posting this. So my problem now is that neither the light nor darkside tracks play. I have .wav and .mp3 versions of both tracks, and I've pretty much tried every folder i can think of putting them there and testing. I have TSLRCM + M4-78, through Steam. My folder #'s are: 1402798020, which contains the streammusic and sounds folders, 1697046656, which contains random .wav files. Can someone help me get these to work? I have both types of sound files, where do i put them? do i need to remove any files from anywhere else? I looks like i tried putting the (mus_s_darkshort / lighshort.wav) in the /common/streammusic folder, should i delete those? Ive tried a lot of things, and i could use some help. Thanks!

Not sure if anyone has posted this already, but to fix the dark side point gain track I just converted "mus_s_darkshort.mp3" to a wav file and copied it to the override folder.

Is there any way that you could make a mod similar to this one, but using the music from KOTOR One? I miss that old music, and the original game itself is so inferior to this one in terms of gameplay and progression that I can barely play it anymore. I'd love it if you would be able to do this.
