WoW Classic Secrets: Mount Hyjal

Mount Hyjal, also known as Hyjal Summit, is a mountain summit located in Northern Kalimdor home to the World Tree Nordrassil. It was once beseiged by the eredar demon lord Archimonde and his Burning Legion minions during the Third War. However, the combined forces of the night elves, humans, orcs, trolls, furbolgs, and more, were able to stall him long enough to enact their plan. As Archimonde reached the World Tree, the Arch Druid Malfurion Stormrage called out to ancestral guardians of the forest using the Horn of Cenarius. Thousands of wisps rose from the land and amassed around the demon lord, simultaneously detonating at once to destroy him. While this caused great harm to the tree, the Nordrassil would eventually heal. Archimonde, however, was destroyed. His remains lay encased in the tree as displayed here. This act cost the Night Elves their immortality.

This area is usually inaccessible to players during the vanilla era. Players would still sometimes access the area through various methods. It was later released as an actual zone during the Cataclysm expansion.

Recorded in World of Warcraft at 30 FPS and optimized to keep filesize reasonably low.
